Since first published in 2002, After Capitalism has offered students and political activists alike a coherent vision of a viable and desirable alternative to capitalism. David Schweickart is professor of philosophy at Loyola University Chicago. He holds PhDs in both mathematics and philosophy. His books include Against Capitalism ; Market Socialism: The Debate among Socialists ; and After Capitalism (2002; second edition 2011). All three of these works have been translated into Chinese. His work has also been translated into Spanish, French, Slovak, Catalan, and Farsi.
