The Internet of Things (IoT) devices are resource-constrained as well as resource-intensive; interact with one another locally and remotely; and the amount of multi-structured data generated, collected, and stored is bound to grow exponentially. Another prominent trend is the integration between IoT devices with cloud-based applications, services, infrastructures, middleware solutions, and databases. Thus, the combination of IoT device data, data analytics, and cloud environments is going to be a stimulating and sparkling foundation for the next-generation knowledge-centric world. A variety of industry verticals, having understood the power of data in producing useful and usable intelligence, are consciously embracing data analytics platforms and processes to be extremely competitive in their offerings, outputs, and operations. There are big, fast, and streaming IoT data, and there are corresponding platforms for doing efficient and cost-effective big, real-time, and streaming analytics. This book examines pioneering technologies and tools emerging and evolving in order to capture, cleanse, and crunch data heaps to extricate actionable insights. This book also examines the application of machine and deep learning techniques in intelligent systems, services, and environments.
