The Network of ASEANChina Think-Tanks (NACT) was proposed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in 2013 to contribute scholarly work to the diamond decade of ChinaASEAN strategic partnership and to build a ChinaASEAN community of shared future. It was officially launched in 2014. So far, a three-level working mechanism (including Country Coordinators Meeting, Working Group Meeting and Annual Seminar) has been built, and a regional network of Think-Tanks has been formed. As a regular and institutionalized platform for Think-Tanks cooperation, NACT serves to promote joint studies on ASEANChina relations, strengthen people-to-people ties and become a significant supplement to Track I diplomacy.

Prof. Zhang Yunling is Academy Member and Director of International Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS since 2006), President of China Association of Asia-Pacific Studies, Director of Center of Regional Security, CASS, Member of National Committee of Chinese Political Consultant Conference (since 2002). He is also Vice Chairman of China Committee of PECC, Vice president of ChinaROK Friendship Association, Board member of ERIA. He was Director of Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies from 19932007.
Dr. Rong Ying is Vice President and Senior Research Fellow of China Institute of International Studies (CIIS). He had previously served as Deputy Director for South Asian, Middle Eastern and African Studies, Director for International Exchange, Director for International Strategic Studies, and Director for American Studies at CIIS from 1999 to 2008. He was Vice President of CIIS from 2008 to 2011. From 1993 to 1997, he served at the Chinese Embassy in the United Republic of Tanzania as Third Secretary and as MinisterCouncilor at the Chinese Embassy in Japan from 2011 to 2016.
Prof. Zhu Feng is currently Director of the Institute of International Relations at Nanjing University. He writes extensively on regional security in East Asia, the nuclear issue in North Korea, and ChinaUS military and diplomatic relations. As a leading Chinese security expert, Professor Zhus recent books include International Relations Theory and East Asian Security (2007), Chinas Ascent: Power, Security, and Future of International politics (co-edited with Professor Robert S. Ross, 2008), and ChinaJapan Security Cooperation and Defense Communication: the Past, Present, and Future (Tokyo: Aiji Press, 2011).
Dr. Wang Yuzhu is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute of International Strategic (NIIS) (the former Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, where he works on ChinaASEAN relations and regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific. He joined CASS in 2000 and received his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of CASS. His publications appear mainly in Chinese journals and focus on ChinaASEAN relations, East Asian cooperation and the strategic thinking behind Chinas regional cooperation. Currently, he is a member of the East Asian Cooperation Expert Group of the Ministry of Commerce of China. He is also the head of APEC and Regional Cooperation Center of CASS.
Prof. Zhou Fangyin is Director of the Center for Chinas Regional Strategies, Guangdong Institute for International Strategies, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. He is also the chief editor of the Journal of Strategy and Decision-Making. He obtained his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2006, and majored in International Relations. He was head of the department of Chinas regional strategy of the National Institute of International Strategies (NIIS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) from 2011 to 2013. His research interests focused on Chinese grand strategy, Chinas regional strategies, and East Asian regional cooperation.
Prof. Wei Ling is Director of the Chinese Foreign Policy Studies Center at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU). She was a visiting scholar at Oakland University (2003), and at French Institute of International Relations (2007), as well as Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at Cornell University (20122013). Her research interests include international relations theory and East Asian regionalism. She is Chinas Country Coordinator for NEAT (the Network of East Asian Think-Tanks), NACT (the Network of ASEANChina Think-Tanks), and NTCT (the Network of Trilateral Cooperation Think-Tanks). She is on the editorial board of Foreign Affairs Review and Southeast Asian Studies. Prof. Wei has published extensively on international relations theory, East Asian security and regional order, and Track II diplomacy.
