Acknowledgments
This book is dedicated to my mother Mary McKee for instilling in me a sense of social justice. It is also dedicated to the courageous women of West Las Vegas who led this successful protest action and to the inspirational women who came before them. I hope I have done their story justice.
I am grateful to the many anonymous reviewers for their insightful critiques and suggestions along the way. I thank Kate Epstein for her brilliant editing. This book is much better because of their input. Jay Song, Jana Hodges-Kluck, Catherine Mudge and all of the other folks at Roman & Littlefield also deserve much gratitude for their professionalism. I thank my mentors Drs. Michael Ian Borer, Shannon M. Monnat and David R. Dickens for encouraging me to stick with this project despite numerous setbacks.
I am forever grateful to my wife Stephanie for her unwavering support and patience. I especially thank Trish Geran, without whom this book would not be possible.
