Vladimir Gelman is a Professor in the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the European University in St. Petersburg, Russia. He is an author and editor of sixteen books in Russian and in English, including Making and Breaking Democratic Transitions: The Comparative Politics of Russias Regions (2003) and Elites and Democratic Development in Russia (2003).
Jnis Ikstens is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Latvia. His main research interests are related to party politics and electoral behavior in Eastern Europe.
Gabriella Ilonszki is a Professor at the Institute of Political Science at Corvinus University in Budapest and heads the Centre for Elite Studies. Her research interests include the analysis of political elites, first of all representatives and top government personnel, including women, and their role in maintaining or transforming regimes. Her most recent book is Parlamenti kpviselk Magyarorszgon (Parliamentary Representatives in Hungary, 2005), and she edited Women in Decision-making: CEE Experiences (2004).
Elena Iorga is a Program Coordinator at the Institute for Public Policy in Bucharest, Romania and a researcher on parties and electoral systems. Her major publications include Your MPs Vote Laws for You: Practical Guide for Using the Nominal Voting Procedure, Registering and Publishing Individual Votes on Bills (2007) and How to Lobby Your MP (2006).
Riho Kangur received his BA from the Department of Political Science at the University of Tartu and is completing his MA thesis. He is an adviser at the Chancellery of the Estonian parliament.
Tatiana Kostadinova is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Florida International University. Her research focuses on institutional reform and the role of domestic and international institutions in post-communist East European politics. She has published a book on Bulgarian parliamentary elections and articles in the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Peace Research, European Journal of Political Research, Electoral Studies, Party Politics and Europe-Asia Studies.
Luk Linek is a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Sociology in the Czech Academy of Science and Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Charles University in Prague. His interests include party politics, electoral behavior and political attitudes. He has published in the Journal of Communist Studies and Transitional Politics and Journal of Legislative Studies and is co-author of Czech Voter 2006 (in Czech). Adrian Moraru is the Deputy Director of the Institute for Public Policy (IPP) in Bucharest, Romania. He has a rich experience in the Romanian NGO sector and has worked as an expert on parties and electoral systems over the past five years. His major publications include Legislation and Control Mechanism of Political Parties Funding in the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and Ukraine (2005) and Practical Guide for Political Parties Financing (2004).
Ion Osoian is an expert at the Institute for Public Policy in Chisinau, Moldova. He has an MA in European Governance from the University of Kent (UK) and is licensed in Administrative Sciences from the Academy of Public Administration under the Government of the Republic of Moldova. His major research interests and publications relate to public sector reform, regional development, Europeanization, Moldovan and Eastern European affairs.
Jan Outl is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics at the University of Hradec Kralov. His main fields of interest are electoral and party systems, especially party funding and candidate election. Oleh Protsyk is a Senior Research Associate at the European Centre for Minority Issues.
