About the Author
Lisa Maurice is a lecturer in classics at Bar-Ilan University. In addition to her research in ancient history, she publishes widely on Roman comedy, working in particular on the self-conscious structure of Plautuss plays and the staging of ancient Drama, as a result of which she has also directed two Plautine productions. Her other main field of research is that of classical reception, where she specialises in modern popular culture. In particular she has been working recently on two subjects, the portrayal of Jews in films about antiquity and the reception of classics in childrens literature. She is married with four children and enjoys reading, cooking and travel in her spare time.
