Moos Law: An Investors Guide to the New Agrarian Revolution: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Moos Law: An Investors Guide to the New Agrarian Revolution" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Moos Law is the latest title from successful investor Jim Mellon, to help readers understand the investment landscape in cultivated and plant-based proteins and materials. Jim has a vision that within the next couple of decades world agriculture will be radically transformed by the advent of cultivated meat technology. This book grounds the reader in why such an advancement is absolutely necessary and informs them of the investments they could make to become part of the New Agricultural Revolution themselves. The harrowing effects on our environment, animal cruelty in food and fashion, and the struggling ability to feed the worlds ever-growing population gives us no choice but to grow meat in labs or derive our proteins from plant-based sources. Not only this, he outlines what he sees as the major hurdles to the industrys success in terms of scalability of production and the smart designing of regulatory frameworks to stimulate innovation in this sector. The future of food is being developed in labs across the world - it will be cleaner, safer, more ethical and, importantly soon, cheaper too! Once price parity with conventional meats is reached, there will be no turning back -- this is Moos Law(TM).

Animals have done us no harm and they have no power of resistance. There is something so very dreadful in tormenting those who have never harmed us, who cannot defend themselves, who are utterly in our power.

JIM MELLON IS A VISIONARY BRITISH ENTREPRENEUR, INVESTOR, AUTHOR, AND PHILANTHROPIST, WITH INTERESTS IN A NUMBER OF SECTORS. HE HAS SUBSTANTIAL REAL ESTATE ASSETS IN GERMANY AND THE ISLE OF MAN, AS WELL AS HOLDINGS IN PRIVATE AND PUBLIC COMPANIES THROUGH THE BURNBRAE GROUP, HIS PRIVATE INVESTMENT COMPANY.

After leaving Oriel College, Oxford, where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics, he worked in Asia and the United States in two fund management companies, GT Management and Thornton Management (Asia) Limited, before founding Regent Pacific Group Limited in 1991, subsequently quoted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Jim spends most of his time investigating and working on startup ideas, inspired by his ability to identify technologies and companies that will reshape peoples lives, before they start trending. His investment philosophy of focussing on these hyper-innovative technologies and novel companies has led him to be recognised as one of the most successful investors of his generation. His monthly Mellon on the Markets column in Master Investor Magazine , where he updates his readers on his latest trading and investing activities, has gained him a cult status among investors.

He is the co-author of six books, all written with a view to identifying emerging thematic trends leading to early stage investment opportunities. Notably, in his book Wake Up! Survive and Prosper in the Coming Economic Turmoil (2005) , he forecasted the global financial crisis of 2008-2009. He followed this with The Top 10 Investments for the Next 10 Years (2008), Cracking the Code (2012), and Fast Forward (2014). His last book Juvenescence: Investing in the Age of Longevity (2017) played a role in bringing ageing research into the mainstream. It led to the formation of the company of which he is co-founder and chairman, Juvenescence which develops therapies that will enable people worldwide to live longer, healthier lives. They actively look for scientific founders probing exciting areas of ageing biology, and work with leading research institutions to create joint ventures combining their IP and Juvenescences resources.
