Overview
In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome! is conservative pundit Ann Coulters wholehearted endorsement of Donald Trump in his bid for the presidency in 2016. While Coulter acknowledges that Trump may not be the polished candidate of the Republican Partys dreams, she supports him as the only person who can save conservative America and bring its values into the White House.
Given the current media ecology, only a person with the audacity and resources of a man like Trump will be able to finally speak for the average, Republican voter who has long felt alienated by the GOPs image as the establishment party of the rich and well-connected. Without needing to rely on the traditional funding sources for Republican candidates, Trump has been able to make statements that no other GOP leader would dare say aloud, despite how popular these sentiments have proven to be with voters. For example, one need only look at Trumps insistence on building a wall along the US border with Mexico. While the top Republican brass balked at this proposal and even outright opposed it, Trumps speech pushing for the wall was largely what propelled him to dominate the field of candidates for the presidential nomination.
Trumps unexpected victory in the Republican Partys nomination for president demonstrates that elections may never be the same again. First, candidates in the past have long relied on highly paid consultants to mine polls and data for insights into finding out what voters really want. Trump has instead operated largely on his own intuition and has managed to win over voters in greater numbers than his rivals, who boasted large staffs of Washington DC insiders. Second, Trump has shown that voters do not want to be troubled with the minute details of policies. They want to hear the big-picture answers to their problems and they want to feel confident in a candidate who, they believe, will be the one to solve everything. Trumps popularity has shown exactly how estranged the Republican Party has become from its base of support. Rather than speaking for its voter base of working class, white Americans, the party has increasingly become a mouthpiece of the elite, and is more focused on elite interests than those of the people.
Ultimately, a Trump victory in November would mean that conservatives have a chance at political dominance in this country once again. However, if he fails, it may be too late for the Republican Party to ever recover.

Analysis
Approaching the end of President Barack Obamas two terms, many conservatives were starting to feel that they were running out of steam as a political force. In 2012, the Republican Party nominated Mitt Romney for president. Although capable, experienced, pedigreed, and polished, he failed to capture enough votes to defeat Obama. By 2016, the Republican field was chock full of contenders of varying degrees of quality including Jeb Bush, a member of the Bush political dynasty. Only Trump managed to capture the voters attention and give the Democrats a genuine challenge in the race for the White House.
