I would especially like to convey the gratitude of all concerned to Professor Qian and Dr Liu of Nanjing University and Professor Andrew Rigby and Dr Carol Rank of Coventry University for their steady and gracious support for a programme of collaboration in peace studies over a five-year period. Their hard work has already resulted in significant original publications and translations, an international conference hosted in Nanjing, new teaching programmes and opportunities for dialogue between peace researchers inside and outside China.
