Kathryn Chard qualified as a social worker in 1998 and held roles both in the voluntary and statutory sectors as a hospital and community- based social worker. She also worked as a carers lead officer in a unitary authority in the North East of England, as well as undertaking a carers commissioning managers role where she managed a multi-agency partnership and team of commissioning officers to deliver a carers strategy. More recently, Kathryn has worked in a consultancy role with Carers UK, and is a PhD student with the University of Essex where she is evaluating the effectiveness of the Care Act 2014 in supporting carers participation and inclusion in economic and social life. Simon Cobb is a social worker with experience of working within the field of child protection and is now specialising in working with families affected by addiction and domestic abuse. He is driven by social justice and abhors discrimination and intolerance. He has eight children, three cats and a small chilli sauce business. In his spare time he performs in heavy metal bands around the globe. Mark Dimes has 35 years experience working in the care sector and qualified as a social worker in 1991. He is currently a Learning and Development Advisor with Suffolk County Council and has worked in various roles as a Senior Practitioner, Team Manager, Professional Advisor, Commissioning Manager and Workforce Manager. He has a BA in social work, is a Practice Educator and enjoys supporting, mentoring and coaching staff. He commissions, co-ordinates and facilitates learning and development using a solution-focused approach and is working towards becoming an executive coach and mentor. Heidi Dix has been a qualified social worker since 1997 and has experience of both adult and childrens services. She holds a part-time management role within a Youth Justice Service where she supports research-informed and relationship-based practice. Heidi is also a lecturer in Social Work at the University of Suffolk where she teaches on a range of modules. As a practising social worker, Heidi is passionately committed to social justice and her interests include feminist social work, practice teaching and learning and co-production within the youth justice system. Andy Fell is a professionally qualified Youth & Community worker, who has been involved in direct work and management of youth work, community and informal education and playwork practice for over 35 years. He has experience of working in both the statutory and voluntary sectors, including managing a borough-wide play service, leading on operational young peoples participation and involvement within a local authority and managing an Early Help team. Andy manages a LGBTQIA youth charity he established with young LGBTQIA people 15 years ago; he also works for a community-based domestic abuse charity. Sue Hollinrake is an Associate Professor who currently teaches on the BA (Hons) Social Work programme at the Univeristy of Suffolk. Sue worked as a social worker and then manager for many years in local authority social services departments. She began as a generic social worker working in Inner London boroughs, before developing a specialist role as a social worker in a special school for children with severe learning difficulties, and then became a service manager for Children with Disabilities. Sue later moved into professional education as a senior lecturer in social work and led the BA Social Work degree programme at the University of Suffolk. Her teaching and research interests are around professional values, informal carers, service user involvement, social work with adults and relationship-based practice. Aisha Howells is a social worker, practice educator and lecturer at the University of Suffolk. Aishas areas of interest include domestic abuse, the impact of trauma, social work research, practice education and student/practitioner well-being. Aisha has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in the Dynamics of Domestic Violence and is passionate about understanding how creative and relationship-based social work practice can support social justice. Jennifer Meade is a Joint Head of a Youth Justice Service. Prior to this, she introduced the Drug Interventions Programme in Norfolk, worked as a senior probation officer in Nottinghamshire and probation officer in Derbyshire and as a volunteer manager at The Landmark, a centre for people living with HIV and AIDS. She has a long-standing interest in the role of case management within the context of relationships. She is also interested in how best to bridge the divide between policy, research and practice. Dee Mustin has been a mental health social worker for many years and is currently a Senior Practitioner in a community team working with adults. She generally works with people experiencing psychosis and has an interest in exploring alternative models of intervention. Dee is also a Practice Educator and an Approved Mental Health Professional and is involved in supporting the AMHP Training Course in Suffolk. |
