Lance E. Anderson, PhD is a Vice President for Caliber/ICF Consulting. He has over 15 years experience in behavioral and social science research and has directed a wide variety of projects up to five million dollars in value. Dr. Anderson has directed or conducted dozens of studies on the development and use of valid and fair selection tests. Many of these studies were conducted in litigious environments and/or under consent decrees. He has also conducted research to develop O*NET, the Department of Labors Occupational Information Network. Other research topics and projects include demonstrating the link between illness and worker productivity, leadership development, assessment of persons with disabilities, and standards development and certification. Dr Anderson has published dozens of articles and/or book chapters on these topics.
Laura E. Baranowski is a Senior Organizational Consultant with Wachovia Corporation. She has more than eight years of professional experience providing human resources consulting services to clients in the areas of job analysis, test development and test validation. Her expertise and research, which has been published in Personnel Psychology and presented at national conferences, have helped to provide organizations in both the private and public sectors with innovative solutions to their personnel assessment issues. She holds an MS in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, North Carolina Industrial and Organizational Psychologists and the Personnel Testing Council of Metropolitan Washington.
Lisa W. Borden is a Partner in the Birmingham office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC., whe test development and validation and the role of general and specific abilities in skill acquisition. He is the USAF technical representative to a NATO working group concerne worked with numerous I/O psychologists and selection professionals in a variety of contexts, including the provision of expert opinion and testimony in litigation, consultation prior to and during litigation, and the development and implementation of training programs and selection procedures in compliance with court orders. Ms. Borden received her law degree in 1989 from the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia
Thomas R. Carretta received a PhD in psychology in 1983 from the University of Pittsburgh. Currently, he is a Research Psychologist in the System Control Interface Branch of the Human Effectiveness Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio and conducts research regarding human factors issues in crew-system interface development. Prior to his current position, he spent over 12 years in the Manpower and Personnel Research Division of the AFRL in San Antonio, Texas working on aircrew selection and classification issues including test development and validation and the role of general and specific abilities in skill acquisition. He is the USAF technical representative to a NATO working group concerned with recruitment, selection, and training of military aircrew and a DoD-level working group concerned with military enlistment qualification. His professional interests include personnel measurement, selection, classification, and individual and group differences.
Christina K. Curnow, PhD, a Managing Associate with Caliber/ICF Consulting, has more than 10 years experience in personnel research and consulting, including job analysis and classification, test development and validation, needs assessment, skill gap analysis, design, development, and evaluation of training programs, distance learning evaluation, survey development, and assessment of individual differences. Her research skills include research design, data analysis, and technical writing. She has presented her research at numerous professional conferences and has published peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters. Dr. Curnows consulting experiences include clients such as the U.S. Army, the Army Research Institute, the National Guard Bureau, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, the State of Alabama, GEICO Direct, the Institute for Museum and Library Science, Joint Forces, Marine Corp, the Center for Army Leadership and Jefferson County Alabama. In addition, she has worked with personnel from a diverse range of occupations including police, judges, attorneys, accountants, inspectors, trainers, librarians, geologists, computer security personnel, water treatment personnel, sales and service supervisors, customer service representatives, EMTs, militaty officers, non-commissioned officers (NCOs) and enlisted personnel.
Patrick J. Curtin, PhD, a Senior Associate with Caliber/ICF Consulting, has 10 years of research and applied experience that includes work with non profit organizations, government agencies, the military, and private sector companies. During this time, his experiences have ranged from performing job analyses to working on large-scale organizational interventions. His areas of expertise include research methods, the development and validation of selection instruments, group and organizational processes, survey development, administration, and scoring, and organizational culture and climate. Much of his work related to selection instrument development and use has been performed in contentious legal settings. Dr Curtin is an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, where he has taught a graduate-level course on techniques in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a junior-level course in research methods. Dr. Curtin has also been a guest lecturer at George Washington University. He has accumulated several years of experience with research methods and advanced statistics through his own work and through teaching research methods for several years at the University of Houston. He has co-authored several journal articles, conference presentations, workshops, and technical reports related to his research interests and work experience.
