Author Chia Cheng (Victor) Chao was graduated from NYU, major of health service management, NYCU of computer science, NCCU of Management information system, 3 masters, and Management Information System (MIS) of NCCU PhD. He had been worked at Queenss hospital center, Woodhull hospital, NY, Wan Fang hospital, Midrange senior computer specialist at Formosa plastic corp. (NJ), and Kinray Pharmacia Company (NY) and previously as a teaching faculty at Taipei Medical University, health service department, currently at Information Science dept. of National Taipei University of Education. Victor Chao is major health medical informatics, applying emerging IT technology reengineering patient safety, hospital performance and computer programming of develop software applications.
Abstract
In recent years, many chain restaurant enterprises at Taiwan invested at China to develop more than 1000 chain restaurants. However, they are facing international competitions between small and medium sized restaurants. Those chain restaurants that they are not only to consolidating old customers but also want to find ways to develop the new customers, so, how to increase competition capability and generate new business opportunities in the competitive environments, such that allows companies continue to gain profit this is our motive of this study.
This research using data mining and emerging restaurant sense marketing information system (RSMIS) technique enhances chain restaurants marketing performance. Moreover, exploration of the indicators will affect customer satisfaction and customer repurchasing intention to increase chain restaurants performance.
This research is applying data mining and RSMIS technologies to enhance chain restaurant performance, we through depth interview to know what kind indicators will affect chain restaurants performance, and then use these indicators to combine with theory model to design questionnaires. In this research, we are applying ANNOVA regression analysis. We expect

1.1 Rationale and motivation
In recent years, many large chain restaurants at Taiwan superstore business, such as: Wan Steak, 85 degree beverage, E coffee etc., increasing competitions between small and medium sized chain restaurant business. Moreover, these large chain restaurants enterprises are moving to China to disuse their operation. 1000 Chain stores are their start target. Those chain restaurants are opening at south, central and north region of China. In China, 1.3 billion populations, the chain restaurants business has a great potential opportunity to diffuse more than 1000 restaurants. It can generate 1 to 2 thousand millions US dollars per year. Those superstore chain restaurants that they are not only to consolidating old customers but also want to find ways to develop the new customers, so, how to increase competition capability and generate new restaurant chain store business opportunities in the competitive environments at Taiwan, China. However how to increase competition power to satisfied customer demand and attract them to enter restaurant becomes a critical issue. How to apply a new RSMIS system allows chain restaurants continuing to gain profit, create brand images and competition advantage is our motive of this study.
1.2 Restaurant operation confronting problems
In recent years, because the impact of financial crisis, leading to economic recession, gain many unemployment population, the spending power of customers was become so weak, how to consolidate the old customers and create new customers sources, makes the restaurant retailed store revenue can sustainable profitability and extend their franchise in chain restaurant becoming a critical issue.
Moreover, there are some problems confronting at customer such as that customer does not know how to select a nice restaurant to meet his/her demand, how to select the best meals as restaurant special gourmet foods, how much cost before entering a restaurant? When entered the restaurant finding the foods which are very expensive or bad taste, the customer cannot leave immediately. Therefore, these problems need a solution. The solution is to apply an emerging RSMIS system to provide better transparent foods information for their customers before entering the restaurant.
1.3 Design system background
The emerging restaurant IT sense marketing system is applying the emerging technology to stimulate the customer eyes by multimedia screen broadcast the movie of gourmet foods. It is to stimulate the customers eyes to tell audience brain that I want the gourmet foods. To release the sense of delicious foods to stimulate the audience nose of smelling system, the audience smells the delicious foods sense that will tell his/her brain, I want to eat the delicious foods. The customers eating the foods, drinking the beverage sound will stimulate the audience ears nerve system to tell himself or herself that I want to eat the delicious gourmet foods. Through the warm or cold air which is released near from the multimedia screen window to let the customer to feel the so warn air passing his/her body at the cold winter who is standing outside of the restaurant or the cold air stream at the hot summer.
Applying the emerging IT restaurant sense marketing IT system is to stimulate the passenger who walking passing the restaurant from side walk corridor to stimulate his/her eyes, ear, nose, skin and brain to create a message I want eating the gourmet foods. Suddenly, the audience will walk into the restaurant become one of the customer to eat the foods. Therefore, the restaurant will create its brand image, moreover, increase their customers and revenue. Meanwhile, this system can become a tool as the restaurant brand creation for their chain restaurants business, the best meals, discount on sales, and illustrates the various delicious foods to their customers.
1.4. Restaurant sense marketing information system (RSMIS)
The purpose of this research applying an invention designs a restaurant sensory marketing information system (RSMIS), integrating food smell ejected in front of the restaurant and food image demoed at the glass window as a multimedia broadcast system in the restaurant street window. The method is when passengers passing through the window glass to restaurant, there have a radiation sensor hanging in the ceiling of the restaurant sidewalks to detect how many passengers are passing walking across the restaurant such as one, two or many passengers. The function of this ceiling radiation sensor is to detect how many passengers passing through the restaurant. Then, the window glass screen will project by a window projector computer system. This is an emerging projecting machine which is to attach a transparent screen shield at the glass window. The computer will project the multi movie as the best foods, dishes, cookie, beverage, wine which is offering from this restaurant in front of the glass screen to attract the passenger to stop to look the meals from projecting screen to attract the passengers to enjoy the food, dissent meals, delicious dishes and customer enjoying eating meals inside the restaurant. The purpose of this function is to attract the passengers to stop in front of the restaurant to look how wonderful and delicious the gourmet foods as the restaurant preparing for the customers. The purpose of this function is to stimulate the customer by eyes of seeing the gourmet food to create the desire of wanting to eat the delicious meals. Meanwhile, the audio will provide a customer is eating the food sound and voice, then two, three and all the customers are enjoy eating the delicious food sound to attractive the audience to create appetite as the same of customers who are inside the restaurants of enjoying eating foods. The purpose of this function is to stimulate the customer to create his/her eating desire by customer eating food sound. At the same time, the sense of the meals will release near form the restaurant window screen to let the audience and passengers to smell the delicious meals sense, therefore to stimulate the audiences stomachs acid to tell his/her brains which I want to eat these so delicious foods. Meanwhile, if the foods are hot dishes, the warn steam will release near from the multimedia windows to let the audience to feel the warm temperature air to touch his/her screen. If the meals are a cold ice caf or cake, the cold air stream will release from the same air channel to touch the customers skin at hot summer season. A warm steam touch customers skin at cold winter. The purpose of this function is to stimulate the audience skin by warm or ice air steam which is decided by the hot or cold foods to stimulate the audience who want to eat the hot food at cold winter or ice meals at hot summer. Moreover, this system can be a tool to create their unique restaurant sense marketing channel for their chain restaurants to diffuse their best food business operation to promote and enhance their brand reputation and generate more revenue and provide more delicious foods to their customers.
