She was less than a footaway as she stared him down

with anger pouring off of her. Hedseen her angry before but he expected steam to start coming out ofher ears at any moment. His own anger was rising to the surface. How dare she talk to him like that?

He pressed the button down on hisphone. I want zero interruptions into this room. I dont care ifthe place is on fire, he growled into the intercom.

Yes sir, came the reply and then theconnection went dead.

He started stalking towards her. Sheseemed to realize her predicament, because she began to retreatfast. Her temper evaporated, as her eyes rounded. He must havelooked a little more frightening than he thought but his cool hadleft and his anger was boiling over.

She was the one who left him because hewas poor. She was the one who thought she was still miss high andmighty. She kept trying to rub in his face hed been replaced byher boyfriend. He couldnt even think, he was so mad.

He backed her up until her legs hit thetable. She stood pressed up against the hard surface. There was noescape. Her breath quickened, making her breasts rise and fallfaster against his chest. Her cheeks were flushed, her lips wereswollen from her nervously chewing on them.

Her eyes were still rounded in fear. Ifit had only been fear, he may have been able to pull out of hisanger but he also saw some excitement in their depths. She stillwanted him but she was fighting herself, as much as she wasfighting him. He needed her now!

He felt a low growl rumble from histhroat. He closed the small gap between them, crushing his lipsonto hers. He grabbed her neck to pull her closer, pushing histongue against her lips, demanding entrance.

She reached her hand up to push himaway but instead she ended up gripping his shirt. She couldnt stopher own bodys betrayal. She was on fire as his lips turned fromalmost abusive to seductive. He accessed her mouth and then tangledhis tongue with hers.

She could feel the heat pooling in hercore. He deepened the kiss, pulling her closer to him. She didntknow where her body ended and his began. Her hands slipped upbehind his neck pulling him even closer.

Chapter One

Derek Titan looked around the crowdedroom and had to force himself not to yawn. He couldnt standattending events where everyone drank too much, laughed too loudand tried far too hard to impress each other.

Derek knew he was what women considereda real catch. Hell, a stupid magazine had done a write up onSeattles most eligible bachelors and placed his picture as numberone. Hed been furious and tried to have himself taken out of thearticle but his attorney had spouted some crap about freedom ofspeech. Since the article, he was being approached by even morematerialistic females.

The magazine listed his net worth asequal to Bill Gates. Theyd also said he was tall, dark andhandsome. He stood over six feet, with broad shoulders and musclesthat rippled throughout his entire body. He hated gyms but he ranevery morning and sometime in the evenings too. Hed discovered ata young age running was a great form of relieving hisstress.

He knew the second best way to relievestress was to take a woman to bed. The minute he was done with her,he walked away, though. There were many women who tried to get himto stay but no one held his interest longer than it took him tobutton up his pants.

After his heart had been shattered byJasmine, he wasnt interested in any other woman. He figured oncehe got his revenge, hed think about settling down.

A woman breezed by him wearing entirelytoo much perfume and he snapped back to reality. He sighed as hegrabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter.

These parties were all about who hadthe most to offer. The women were on the prowl and the men werefishing. He wasnt interested. If he wanted a woman, he could haveone at any time. He wasnt interested in superficial, wanna-besocialites.

He watched as a couple of ladies passedby, dripping in diamonds and low cut gowns. They were trying tocatch his eye and normally hed make their day by flirting alittle, giving them the impression they stood a chance but todaywasnt that day. He had a raging headache and he was pissed hedbeen summoned.

There you are, boy. What are you doinghiding in the corner? Daniel Titan, his father, walked up andquestioned him.

Im wondering why Im here when Idrather be home with a scotch and my feet up, Derekreplied.

Youre here because you got a requestfrom your father. I have some things to discuss with you later,Daniel said in his no nonsense voice.

And it couldnt wait untillater? Derek questioned.

Oh live it up a little. Youre alwaysso busy adding a few more million to your bank account you dontstop to smell the roses, his father admonished him.

I live it up plenty, hell I was inMilan last week.

You were in Milan on business, thatdoesnt count, his dad told him, a bit exasperated.

For me, the ideal time is mixingbusiness with pleasure, Derek told his father, with a waggle ofhis brows. Both men relaxed.

Seriously, Dad I do have a headache.Whats so important it couldnt wait until morning? Derek asked.Once Derek had made his first million hed moved his father to thecity and Daniel was the Chief Financial Officer of his hugecorporation. His father was brilliant and had helped the companygrow further. His dad may have had several hard times while Derekwas growing up but he was essential to Dereks companynow.

David Freemans here tonight and hestalking to some people, trying to get investors, Daniel answeredhim. Derek was on instant alert. He searched the room, spotting hisenemy. He was the one whod made him the cut throat business manhed turned into.

Its far too late for him. By tomorrowmorning his company will be mine, no matter what he tries tonight,Derek said with a sneer.

As Derek watched David, a beautifulwoman approached him, stepping up on her tip toes to kiss him onthe cheek. David didnt even bother to turn and acknowledge her, which she didnt seem to notice. The man noticed nothing around himif it didnt have dollar signs on it, not even his stunningdaughter. Dereks eyes narrowed to slits. He hadnt seen Jasminefor ten years and those years had been very good to her.

Her dress was skin tight on top, dipping low in both the front and back. Her curves were even morepronounced now that her body had matured. She had dark hair, whichwas swept up in a classic bun, with tendrils floating around herdelicate face. Her dark brown eyes had once mesmerized him. Theyhad a hypnotic quality, with their deceiving innocence shiningthrough and the thick, dark lashes surrounding them.

He was angry at the tightening in hisgut at just the sight of her. Shed nearly destroyed him and yet hestill wanted her. His full revenge included her though, so hedhave her in his bed again and then shed be begging him not toleave.
