CONTENTS
Since my teen years, Ive had a journal by my bedside. Its been my guide through heartache, addiction recovery, life transitions, and miraculous shifts. Most important, Ive used the practice of journaling to receive inspiration and channel guidance far beyond my physical sight.
A journal is a companion that will always be there to listen, receive, and hold space for whatever you need to release. Creating a relationship with your journal can guide you toward great spiritual connection and a sense of intimacy unlike any other. Journaling is a sacred process.
Im not alone in my love affair with journaling. My dear friend Katie Dalebout is a journaling cheerleader. Her enthusiasm for the practice has guided her to heal her fear-based perceptions of herself and step into her authentic power. As Katie says in the Introduction to this book, Journaling saved me. It was the door to my spiritual path. Through her personal transformation she has been called to teach others how to do the same. In this book Katie offers you life-changing practices that you can use to make your journal your companion on your transformational journey inward.
Katie is a true Spirit Junkie. Her commitment to her personal growth and her miracle mind-set are immeasurable. It has been a privilege to witness her path and see her step into her power as a leader and teacher. Katie is a powerful example for anyone ready to clear the blocks to the presence of their purpose and light.
Apply the practices in this book to any area of your life that needs a shift. Trust in the process, and know that each time you surrender your inner wisdom to the page you will experience a miracle.
Let Katie be your guide as you let out anything holding you back to create space for manifesting your new vision.
You want change. Youve heard about affirmations, but arent totally sure if they work. You like the concept of positive thinking, but havent noticed any differences in your life. Maybe you like yoga, but you take off before savasana; or maybe youve attempted meditating, but your mind is a circus. Whether youve read the entire self-help section of the bookstore in vain or wouldnt be caught dead in that area of Barnes & Noble, you crave change.
Perhaps your career isnt what you thought it would be, but you feel stuck on how to fix your situation. Maybe your relationships arent what you thought they would be, but youre unsure how to shift or repair them. Perhaps your location isnt where you thought youd end up, but moneys tight, and making a move doesnt seem possible. Maybe you have a grand vision for your lifedreams of moving to New York City and being welcomed like you were Taylor Swift, creating your dream job, and being in a loving, committed relationshipbut you arent clear on the smallest steps that need to happen to get you there.
The real reason you havent achieved your vision for the life you desire? Deep down, you might not believe that you deserve it... or that its even possible for you. You might not even be sure where to begin. You wish someone would hold your hand and tell you exactly what to do, coach you through it. And not just anyonea friend with a fresh and loving voice who has actually been there and created lasting change in her own life.
Thats me. Im your girl. Hi.
I used to be in the same place of wanting change, feeling stuck, and hitting wall after walland journaling saved me. It was the door to my spiritual path; it helped me get clear on the feelings and thoughts that were swirling around in my head. Writing was the only way for me to not only discover what those thoughts werebut to let them out and start to build the life I wanted. My journal was my greatest tool in finding my purpose, healing myself, and getting started on my lifes path.
Usually, its the same few thoughts stuck on repeat that get caught in our minds, and thus keep us stuck. Journaling is the plumber that can unclog the mind (thats bogged down with years of old gunk) and clear out repetitive, destructive thoughts and beliefs. By letting out your thoughts, you become objectiveyou become an observer of your life, and with clarity you step into a position of power to choose how you want to run the show and guide your life.
If you feel youve tried everythingor if you have no idea even where to beginthen this book is the missing puzzle piece that can take your life to the next level by creating lasting change through the practice of journaling. The tools offered in here are powerful yet simple activities that can be done anywhere and in any order.
