Composed more than 2,000 years ago, the Zohar is a set of 23 books, a commentary on biblical and spiritual matters in the form of conversations among spiritual masters. But to describe the Zohar only in physical terms is greatly misleading. In truth, the Zohar is nothing less than a powerful tool for achieving the most important purposes of our lives. It was given to all humankind by the Creator to bring us protection, to connect us with the Creators Light, and ultimately to fulfill our birthright of true spiritual transformation.

More than eighty years ago, when The Kabbalah Centre was founded, the Zohar had virtually disappeared from the world. Few people in the general population had ever heard of it. Whoever sought to read itin any country, in any language, at any pricefaced a long and futile search.

Today all this has changed. Through the work of The Kabbalah Centre and the editorial efforts of Michael Berg, the Zohar is now being brought to the world, not only in the original Aramaic language but also in English. The new English Zohar provides everything for connecting to this sacred text on all levels: the original Aramaic text for scanning; an English translation; and clear, concise commentary for study and learning.
THE KABBALAH CENTRE
The Kabbalah Centre is a spiritual organization dedicated to bringing the wisdom of Kabbalah to the world. The Kabbalah Centre itself has existed for more than 80 years, but its spiritual lineage extends back to Rav Isaac Luria in the 16th century and even further back to Rav Shimon bar Yochai, who revealed the principal text of Kabbalah, the Zohar, more than 2,000 years ago.

The Kabbalah Centre was founded in 1922 by Rav Yehuda Ashlag, one of the greatest kabbalists of the 20th Century. When Rav Ashlag left this world, leadership of The Kabbalah Centre was taken on by Rav Yehuda Brandwein. Before his passing, Rav Brandwein designated Rav Berg as director of The Kabbalah Centre. Now, for more than 30 years, The Kabbalah Centre has been under the direction of Rav Berg, his wife Karen Berg, and their sons, Yehuda Berg and Michael Berg.

Although there are many scholarly studies of Kabbalah, The Kabbalah Centre does not teach Kabbalah as an academic discipline but as a way of creating a better life. The mission of The Kabbalah Centre is to make the practical tools and spiritual teachings of Kabbalah available and accessible to everyone regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender or age.
