ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I n the process of writing Path to the Soul, I have been fortunate to meet many wonderful people who have mentored and guided my journey. They are: Father Valace, Dr. Terrence Lear, Irv Raffe, Diane Martin, Fred Gustafson, and my peers at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago. My very special gratitude and thanks to Boris Matthews, who guided me at every step, challenging me to clarify and deepen the concepts discussed in this book. As Arjuna says of Lord Krishna, He was no ordinary charioteer.
I thank my patients, who shared their stories with all of us to assist on the journey. I hope their healing experience has been just as rewarding as my own learning and healing from the sacred encounter with them.
And thank you to all of you who provided practical assistance: Nancy Ferguson for her invaluable research, to my son, Siddhartha Bedi, for creating and maintaining the website, pathtothesoul.com, and to Paul Akre, Paul de Angeles, Gloria Ehlen, Shay Harris, Astrid Mellenkamp, Marilyn Olson, Lee Rafel, Jody Rein, Chris Roerden, and Jan van Schaik.
Thanks go to John Peters for graphically interpreting my concept of the chakras, and to Brian Malloy for the photographs.
Pursuing the path has involved many sacrifices. The most important was the sacrifice of precious time earmarked for my loving wife, Usha, my daughter, Ami, my son, Siddhartha, and my grandson, Signe. They have generously given of their time, love, and support.
