Deeper Relaxation

Relaxing into Abundance

Reality Creation teaches you to live as if your true hearts desires were already true. Realize that this implies more relaxation. Why? Well, if your wishes were all already true, wouldnt you feel so mellow and relieved?

We live in a world in which success is linked to hard work and tension. I`d like to suggest that this path to success only applies to low- and mid-levels of consciousness. As we grow and mature, we realize that more is possible with less effort, that a deep sense of relaxation and well-being can, in fact, attract improved circumstances into our lives.

Relaxation is the state we have after we succeed in something. Youve accomplished a milestone, gotten your perfect partner, achieved financial security, regained ideal healthand then there is a sense of relief. We also know than when you live as-if you have succeeded, your success comes to you more quickly. By this logic, relaxing = acting-as-if you are already successful = becoming more successful!

The relaxation I am referring to here is not to be mistaken with complacency, laziness or taking stuff for granted. For example, when the ideal partner manifests in your life, I dont recommend you take them for granted and no longer invest anything into the relationship. When big mone y comes to you, I dont recommend you take it for granted and no longer put effort into new goals. This type of complacency is not relaxation, but rather a pendulum-reaction to having worked too hard and tried too hard to begin with.

The abundance-magnetic relaxation I am referring to is a peace-of-mind; it is the ease of the expert, the chilled-out demeanor of the billionaire, the effortless radiance of those who know they are attractive, the inner security of those who feel comfortable within themselves. To illustrate:

You know you are not in an ideal relaxed state when you are desperate to get something or desperately resisting something, distracting yourself with unimportant things or when there are various health issues.

Here is a little exercise to deepen your understanding of your own relaxation and ideal state of well-being.

1. List what relaxes you

Examples:

Reading a book slowly

I chose these examples to show that everyone has a different understanding of what relaxes them. Some of these things, such as smoking, may be harmful, but if one believes them to relaxing, one will do them nonetheless.

2. Already feel/imagine the relaxation you link to those things

Its good to know the things that relax you so that you can do them when you need to chill. But its even better to be able to relax without those things so that you reduce dependency on them. In other words, I love going for walks and watching people it relaxes me greatly.

Anytime I want to relax I just take a walk. But its not like I have to take a walk to relax. Sometimes I`ll skip the walk and, by intention. just relax in an instant.

Simply close your eyes and imagine already doing or experiencing those things. Try to feel the same relief you would feel if you were doing those things. If you cant, it means you are addicted and should reduce the object of your dependency.

Alternatively, simply develop mental images that relax you. How does it feel to imagine

counting clouds passing by? Or beautiful rolling hills?

Or a perfect beach? Or a heavenly realm?

I have a number of imaginary places I access that, combined with soft breathing, create instant calm.

If you were already experiencing abundance in all areas of your life, how supremely tranquil would your ease be?

Take a week to practice being that already. Slow down your movements. Choose your actions more considerately. Take some time to just sit and observe the world. The time you take is the time you give yourself. It means you value yourself. When you value yourself, you become more valued.

Peace of Mind

People tend to think that relaxation refers mainly to physical relaxation. So when I say its so important to relax they think of hanging around in sun-chairs and getting massages all day. But when I use the word relaxation I am not only referring to physical release, but relaxation of the mind. You can be physically relaxed, prior to falling asleep, for example, but your mind could still be racing. Relaxation of mind leads to true peace of mind. Sometimes physical methods support the resting of mind, but thats normally not enough. Indeed resting the body sometimes causes tension of mind, as in am I not supposed to be doing work in the office instead of lying here all day?

Resting of mind is achieved by having no unfinished business. No incomplete communication. No lack of integrity or contradictory intentions, thoughts, words and deeds. It can also be achieved by focusing the mind on one object. As you focus, energy is accumulated and one- pointed, allowing all distraction and pressure to disappear. Other ways toward peace of mind: through continuity of life and actions, through thought-releasing (just letting go of whatever comes to mind), by sitting and observing the present moment, by gentle and committed study or reading, by contemplation and reflection, by mindful and slow movements, by having attention-on-attention or awareness-of-awareness, in sports and physical activity, while being in love or very appreciative of something (noticeable by dilated pupilsthe pupils of the eyes expand 45% while looking at someone or something you love), and by not labeling interruption and distraction as such, but integrating and acknowledging such as part of the whole.

Is Suffering Really Necessary?

If there is one thing I have learned in my twenty-five years as a reality-creation-coach, then its that every human being goes through the whole human package of ups and downsno exceptions ! I`ve worked with the rich and poor, the young and old, the smart and dumb, but they have all suffered to some extent. Along the way they have all experienced loss and achievement, grief and ecstasy, good and bad fortune, frustration and joy. I think its safe to say that every soul on earth goes through the whole scale.

But is suffering really necessary? And if so, to what extent? There seems to be a belief system common to planet Earth that suffering is somehow needed.

Researchers of human motivation and psychology say that it is in moments of suffering that we reveal who we really are. For example, you cannot practice courage if you never face any challenge and you cannot grow if there are no problems. I agree with this. Adversity helps us rise to the challenge. Without trials and tests, problems and blocks, there is no growth of personal will, choice and strength. We dont really want less burden s, we secretly dream of having broader shoulders to carry the burden. Thats what most stories and movies of humanity are about.

But this idea can also be taken too far. Buddha taught life is suffering, so you see some Lamas in Tibet prostrating themselves on the hard desert floor in the hot sun for days, until their knees bleed. Suffering is associated with balancing bad karma. Some Christians believe that being poor and sacrificing ones well-being or flogging oneself until bleeding, to bear the cross, is saintly and good. If I prefer cruising down the beach in my BMW convertible, does that make me a sinner in their eyes? I know a football coach who believes that inflicting maximum pain, sweat and tears in his trainings is the only path to success. He believes that violently humiliating his players is a path to their enlightenment. But Ive been following the path of this football-coach for a decade now, and his methods never succeed long- term. They work for about one season, then he is off to coach the next team, leaving his old team burned out.
