Page 1 There is too much touristy sightseeing in the world these days, and not enough pilgrimageintentionally joining and being joined by Jesus and his companions in daily discipleship. In his conversations, prayers, and reflections while walking on the old pilgrim trail to Canterbury, Nelson Kraybill makes pilgrims of us all. Eugene H. Page 2 As one of the pilgrimage partners for this book, I didn't anticipate the misery of unremitting rain and the pain of feet sodden in a whole day's walk. Neither could I have predicted the intense relief and comfort of sharing hot drink, fresh bread, and rest at our lunchtime inn. These hikers' experiences pose vivid parallels both to uncertainties of the Christian way and to delights of communion with fellow travelers and with the Lord. Nelson Kraybill reminds us that the joy of the Christian journey is that we don't travel this way alone. We go together as a pilgrim band, fitting our feet into the steps of our Master.
