Mike, you are indeed very ignorant about Islam. You know nothing about our Pure Faith. I have neither time nor patience to debate about Islam with ignorant people like you!
Muhammad Carmali, Islamic Theologian from Portugal.
You are no longer a Muslim. Why do you go through so much trouble to prove that the prophet Muhammed was a pedophile?

For all the future ex-Muslim Christians of the world.
A fter the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy came to an end in 2003, a friend of mine asked me if I would agree with him that there were distinct parallels between the three Abrahamic Religions and the three movies by Peter Jackson? Judaism, so he proposed, could be likened to Fellowship of the Ring: long, tiring, with a lot of people making mistakes along the way, and the whole thing coming to naught in the end. Christianity on the other hand, he feels, has a lot of commonalities with The Two Towers: dark, gloomy and with salvation swooping in at the end. Islam, on the other hand, was according to him a lot like The Return of the King: bloody battles from start to finish, but finally an end to the story.
I shook my head.
No.
Heck no!
If Islam were a Lord of the Rings movie, it wouldve been an unlicensed direct-to-DVD sequel, which was not directed by Peter Jackson, but by an Austrian guy, named Otto, who has never even read the books. The story wouldnt take place in Middle-Earth, but rather in modern-day Tyrol. The heroes would all have retained their names, but the cast would have consisted of Austrian soap opera actors wearing Lederhosen. And Gandalf: he never died in Moria! How could anyone even say something like that? Otto wouldve made sure that the audience understood that it was only the misguided assumptions of Frodo, Aragorn and the rest of the Fellowship that Gandalf died. In fact, Gandalf never even claimed that he was a wizard, to begin with! He was just a regular guy, like you and me. Even though Otto never read any of Tolkiens books, for him, only his movie is deserving of the legacy of the great author. According to this director, Peter Jackson was corrupting Tolkien's books. And it would have been an insult to the father of the High-Fantasy genre if you even thought about watching anything but Ottos version.
If you are familiar with Islam, my attempt at a little bit of humor before we delve into the meat of this book shouldve brought out a chuckle or two. If youre not familiar with Islam yet, I invite you to get back to above paragraph after reading my books. If my joke still doesnt make you smile at the very least, then maybe Im just terrible at writing comedy. My apologies.

This duology is very personal to me. It represents a summary of 20 years of research, which at the end, led me to leave Islam. For me, religion has always been a private matter. Its a matter between you and your creator. I didnt tell anyone when I left Islam. And I didnt announce to anyone either when five years later, I got baptized. While I see a lot of people sharing their testimonies on social-media or elsewhere, at first, it has never occurred to me to write about my conversion.
In 2014, I joined the Q&A website Quora (if they havent banned me yet, you can still find me there at https://www.quora.com/profile/Mike-Muluk). Initially, I made an account there, because I needed help myself: I wanted to restore the sweaty rubber grips on my mountain bike to their original condition. Unfortunately, I didnt get a solution on Quora. But I decided to help others regarding some topics I knew. The German military was a subject where I had some first-hand experience I could share. Turkish immigrants living in Germany was another. And of course, I was also intimately familiar with my old religion: Islam.
Fast forward three years later: My answers on Islam and leaving Islam on Quora have been read more than one million times. It dawned on me how little most peopleJews, Christians, Hindus, Atheists, and even Muslims themselvesknow about Islams position in comparison to the other world religions. That must be the reason, why a surprising amount of people cant understand why I would convert from Islam to Christianity? Why would I swap one Abrahamic Religion with another? Why would I exchange an apple for another apple?
Most people, including Jews and Christians, would wholeheartedly agree that Islam is an Abrahamic Religion. After all, Islam claims to be a descendant of the Legacy of Abraham. It is one of the three monotheistic world religions that sprung out of that corner of the world. Muslims even believe in Moses and Jesus. Even the King of Jordan, King Abdullah, said in an interview with CNNs Fareed Zakaria on January 25, 2018, that he believed in Jesus Christ as the Messiah and His Holy Virgin Mother. The belief in these biblical figures is, after all, part of the Six Articles of Faith in Islam. Without believing in them, you would not be considered a Muslim.
But is Islam really an Abrahamic Religion?
Well, it certainly depends on what we define with Abrahamic Religion. Of course, a religion that claims itself to be an Abrahamic Religion would need to have its origins in the person of Abraham. That is quite a no-brainer. Also, the religion in question would need to worship the same God as Abraham did. And finally, for Islam to be an Abrahamic Religion, it needs to have some convergence in its teachings, history, and traditions with its predecessors, Judaism and Christianity.
