Tom Inglis
This work is dedicated to my wife Barbara, who has supported and encouraged me to take the message of worship to thenations. Without her, this work would not have been possible and thousandswould never have heard this message. It is also dedicated to my wonderfulchildren, Kirsty, David, Andrew and Jessica Joy, who are a constant blessingand reminder to me of the goodness of God. The greatest testimony I have is thatmy wife and children are worshipers of God, which makes this work a livingreality.
I would like to thank everyone who hassupported this ministry throughout the years and encouraged me to finishwriting these manuals. Especially to those who have represented PsalmodyInternational in many nations throughout the world and faithfully taught theprinciples of worship as a lifestyle.
There are so many individuals toacknowledge but I have decided not to mention anyone in particular. You whoserve this ministry and have sown into it know your contribution. These threevolumes of study would never have been possible without you and I am gratefulfor the role you have played. I pray Gods richest return to you all in everyway for all you have sown.
We would like to stay in touch with ourstudents and graduates and encourage you to visit our website. We will updateregularly with news, teaching articles and conference information. www.psalmody.org

Dear Student,
I welcome you in the precious name of Jesusto the ministry of Psalmody International and in particular to the School ofWorship.
The objective of the School of Worship issimply to help you get to know God more and worship Him.
Since the inception of PsalmodyInternational in 1983, the material in its various stages of development hasbeen implemented in over forty nations and many denominations. The consistenttestimony we have received from students who have attended schools around theworld has been - My life has changed.
I am excited to introduce you to the Schoolof Worship in three volumes of study.
1. Foundation Principles of Worship
2. Lifestyle Principles of Worship
3. Local Church Principles of Worship
This is not a definitive work on thesubjects of worship or lifestyle and neither myself nor those who represent theministry consider ourselves experts. Our only testimony is the fruit of liveschanged by the power of the Holy Spirit when the principles of worship as alifestyle have been implemented.
My prayer and earnest desire for those ofyou who apply these principles is that you become more in love with God andhave a greater compassion for those who do not know Him. May God bless you asyou receive the truths from this course through the spirit of worship as Jesushas instructed us according to His Word.

Worship Transforms Me
We are unique individuals created by God inHis image (Genesis 1:27-28) for the purpose of fellowship with Him. Thisfellowship essentially operates in two ways - firstly to worship God andsecondly to serve Him, but it has to be in that order. Our worship empowers usto serve and establish His kingdom. When Adam fell, he was put out of theGarden of Eden - the place where he worshiped, had fellowship and was givenauthority to rule.
Adam and Eve chose to believe the lie ofthe serpent rather than God (Genesis 2-3). God had warned them that they woulddie if they ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil(Genesis 2:17). They did not die physically on that day but the result of theiraction severed the spiritual connection between themselves and God. The eternallife and harmony that they enjoyed was now broken by wilful disobedience. This affectedman in the following ways:
Adams spirit was dead in the sense thatit was separated from God and no longer in harmony with Gods Spirit. His mindbecame subject to shame, fear of rejection and guilt that made him hide fromGod. His body began to deteriorate and become susceptible to disease (dis-easeis the opposite of harmony) and ageing resulting ultimately in death.
