Organized 11-man syndicate to purchase Detroit Baseball Company from estate of W.O. Briggs; became one-third owner and Chairman of the Board.
1960Became two-thirds owner and President of Detroit Baseball Company.
1962Became sole owner, Chairman and President of Detroit Baseball Club.
1962Detroit Tigers baseball tour of Japan, Okinawa and Korea under auspices of U.S. State Department.
1963-71Chairman of Major League Baseball Television Committee.
1968Detroit Tigers become World Champions.
1968Received from the state of Michigan awards from the Governor and legislative bodies.
1977Sold Tiger Stadium to City of Detroit for $1 in return for 30-year lease.
1977Received the Summit Award from the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce for Community Service.
1981Received the August A. Busch Jr. Award for meritorious service to baseball. Award is given only occasionally and for extraordinary achievements.
