Crystal Grid Magic
Tess Whitehurst
When you start with a crystal-clear, rock-solid intention, creating a crystal grid is a powerful act of magic. Plus, its fun to do, and fun always adds a generous dose of effectiveness to any work of magic. And lets not forget that upon completion of your grid, a beautiful mandala will have appeared in your space, shining with the unmistakable glow of enchantment and crafted out of the precious, sparkling minerals of the earth.
Crystal Grid Basics
Building a grid draws upon the structured strength of sacred geometry and the precise properties of powerful gems. There is a specific structure to the practice, but its also a highly creative act that can be adapted according to your preference. So while these basic guidelines will assist you in constructing the crystal grids outlined in the next few pages, you can also use them to dream up your own designs that incorporate the crystals you happen to have available, as well as your own unique intentions and aesthetic taste.
First, state your intention. Its always most effective to do this in the present tense, as if already true. For example, if you choose to create one of the grids below, you might state, I am successful, I am wealthy, or I am in divine flow. In addition to composing the statement, add momentum to your intention by saying it aloud and writing it down somewhere, such as a journal or notebook.
Next, obtain or create a crystal grid cloth. This is a square of cloth, roughly twelve to fourteen inches on each side, depicting a sacred geometrical pattern. If youre not the crafty type, just search crystal grid cloth on Etsy and youll find plenty of options. As an alternative to a cloth, you may use a geometrical pattern printed or drawn on paper, as long as its big enough to comfortably fit your crystals. Youll want to select a pattern that possesses properties that are in alignment with your goal. The grids that follow incorporate three of the most popular designs for crystal grids: the flower of life (which promotes positive expansion), the seed of life (which holds the power of potent generation and endless multiplication), and Metatrons cube (which emanates precision, alignment with divine wisdom, and synchronization with the dance of the cosmos).
Then, assemble your crystals. For the grids that follow, youll find lists of exactly what youll need. Still, you may like to read over the following descriptions to get a working understanding of how it all works together. Of course, youll also find this overview helpful when crafting your own grids.
To start, youll need an anchor stone. This will be the most substantial piece in the grid: its often a cluster, pyramid, or somewhat symmetrical standing crystal point. The anchor stone is the heart of the grid: its important that its properties and the feeling it gives you are in strong alignment with what youre choosing to manifest.
Youll then need various stones to be positioned at strategic points on the mandala surrounding the anchor stone. You can think of these stones as carrying your intention outward from the anchor stone in concentric, vibrational waves, and radiating it into the world in perfect expression. (When creating your own design, follow your intuition about exactly what stones to choose and where to place them in the grid. You may also like to play around with crystal placement until it all seems to click.)
Now, cleanse and empower your crystals. Cleansing removes any energetic debris and activates the metaphysical properties of the stones. If possible, bathe the stones in a clean body of flowing water, such as ocean waves or a mountain stream. (I like to use a metal strainer for this purpose when cleansing a bunch of crystals at a time.) If you dont have access to such a body of water, you can simply run them under cold water in a sink for two to three minutes or so. After cleansing the stones in water, allow them to bathe in bright sunlight for about five to ten minutes.
Finally, craft your grid. After spreading your cloth on a flat surface (and ironing it if necessary), begin with the anchor stone, which you will place at the exact center of the pattern.
From the anchor stone, work outwardin other words, begin with the circle of stones closest to the anchor stone, then move to the next circle outward, and so on. For any grids that you create in order to magnetize or summon a particular condition, place each stone in a clockwise manner. For grids created to banish, dissolve, or diminish, it will be more effective to place each stone in a counterclockwise manner.
