I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all the real experts who have allowed me to consult them over the years. They include Christiane Mervaud, Patrick Nieirtz, Graham Gargett, Guillaume Metayer, Christine Guyot-Clment, but first and foremost, Bertram E. Schwarzbach, and Professor Emeritus Sylvain Menant, whose kind patience, comments, and suggestions for exploring various topics have been priceless.
G. K. NOYER is a freelance writer and translator, born in Michigan, where she did copywriting and production work for the local PBS affiliate and radio before moving to France. She has written scripts in French for several television series, and translated others into English, along with translating plays, websites, and historical documents for museums. She is currently developing a feature-film script on Voltaire and his journey to the Enlightenment battle for freedom of beliefs, as well as a feature-length comedy inspired by one of his lesser-known works. Some of the findings in the introduction were previously presented at a Paris-Sorbonne University conference on Voltaire in 2014.
