Preface
The art of sending cards is being lost in our culture. Email, text messaging and internet chat rooms are fast becoming our main forms of communication. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, the elation on receiving a card filled with heartfelt wishes or condolences can still touch someones heart. The recipient not only appreciates the words, but also the effort and thought that went into buying, writing and sending the card.
You may find it difficult to find a card that says what you want to say, or that exactly describes the emotions you want to share, despite the best efforts of professional greeting card writers. The choices are endless and, after browsing through the many available, you might opt for a card that is blank inside for your own verse or thoughts.
For some this might come easily, but for most of us its a struggle to come up with the right words that best fit the occasion. Do we want to use humour or reveal deeper feelings? Do we wish to acknowledge someones loss or success? Lost for Words and Completely Lost for Words have been written to help the hesitant card writer. Sometimes we need some inspiration to get the creative juices flowing, so use these sayings and quotes to inspire you to write something personalised and meaningful.
And while there are many occasions which call for a card to be sentfrom birthdays and weddings, to the birth of a baby or a graduationsometimes the best time to send, and receive, a card is for no particular reason.
