This book is dedicated to my dear partner-in-shine, Alex Drossler. Through him, I have gotten to know true and unconditional love and friendship. Thank you, Alex, for always supporting me in this process of self-discovery and transformation.
And to my incredibly knowledgeable (and hilarious) astrology teacher, Linea Van Horn. As she was the first human to teach me the language of the stars.
To my mother Paty Marimar, my grandparents Patricia and Jorge, and my Mexican Montfar family, for showering me with love and showing me what real-life effort means.
To my dear friend and colleague, Lisa Stardust, for her support and stellar friendship.
To Astrology.com and Horoscope.com for a decade of thriving in the astrology media world and for helping me discover my passion for astrology.
To my Leo moon sister Leslie Amberger, my astro nerd sister Nissa Liu and little Persephone.
Special thanks to Petr from Astro-seek.com for selflessly creating the Moon-Sign Calculator to use with this book.

You probably already know your sun sign or star sign and have familiarised yourself with its meaning, as thats the usual gateway to understanding the uniqueness of your birth chart. Since the sun travels in one sign for about a month, its easy to figure out which is your sun sign just by looking at the date you were born. For example, all people born between 23 October and 21 November have a Scorpio sun, while all those born between 22 November and 21 December have a Sagittarius sun, and so on.
As the name suggests, the sun sign refers to your solar personality, that special light which you shine into the world. It radiates the energy of the particular sign it occupies in an outward fashion solar energy is external, and very much on display for people to see and notice. In astrology, your sun sign is your core identity, your vitality and your ego, as well as the masculine energy within you, regardless of your gender and sexual orientation. In your birth chart, the suns position by sign and house speaks of either your father or father figures and the type of relationship you share with them.
