DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my long-time friend and fellow minister of the gospel, Linda McDonald. Linda was a gifted teacher with a passion for the Word and a passion for the lost. She traveled with me to many countries to share the love of Jesus, and she had an anointing to minister the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Lindas desire was to know Christ more fully and to help others to do the same. Linda beautifully lived the revelation in this book until she went home to be with the Lord. I miss her dearly, and I know that she would be delighted to know that many will receive this revelation and walk in the fullness of all that God has for them.

JOSHUA 1:8
FOREWORD
As I write these words, much like the Israelites in Mosess time, we are eager to take ground in the land that God has promised us. Yet, the world is in the midst of a transition like never before; moments that will go down in history are unfolding right in front of us. If there was ever a time for believers to arise and shine, its now.
I find great solace in knowing that the Lord has equipped us with everything we need to live in our divine advantage and fulfill our heavenly mandate. Yet, Id propose there is still work to do, and I believe its one of the reasons why Marilyn Hickey has loyally labored to put this new book, Read It. Speak It. Do It. , in your hands.
Before we jump into the explanation of this profound Scripture, let me give you a little background on what was happening in the life of Joshua during this time.
Joshua had been following Moses, one of the greatest leaders of the day, who walked in power and authority not only with man but with God; he even spoke with God face-to-face. Moses received a divine decree to rescue the Israelites from the bondage of four hundred years of slavery in Egypt and lead them into their promised land, the land of Canaan. Yet, Moses left this task unfinished and unfulfilled; therefore, it fell onto the shoulders of his faithful servant Joshua.
Can you imagine the weight of the burden that Joshua must have felt, or the stress and the grief that filled him as the baton was passed to him that day? His mentor was gone, the people were distraught, and God had given him a daunting mandate to execute. Yet, in this moment of distress, the Lord shared a secret with Joshua that would ultimately be the key ingredient to his profound success. In Joshua 1:8, the Lord told Joshua, This Book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may be observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
God told Joshua several times to be strong and courageous, but did you catch the final words of His exhortation? God told Joshua, in effect, By meditating on My Word, you will make your way prosperous and have success! Take note of the you will part. God didnt say, I will make you prosperous and successful. He said, You will make your way prosperous, and you will have success.
This may seem like an overly simplified blueprint for success. But, what I am getting at is Gods one-liner makes it clear and straightforward: meditate on His Word, and then do it! This is Gods formula for success.
You probably know the rest of the story. Joshua took Gods words to heart and victoriously led the Israelites into the promised land.
Marilyn will be unpacking Joshua 1:8 in more depth in the pages that youre about to read. But what I want you to keep in mind is the challenging mandate that God gave Joshua, as well as the key to success He shared with him. Marilyn has taken this simple yet profound key and diligently applied it to her own life. Prepare to be inspired and encouraged by the testimonies she shares about how Scripture has transformed her life as well as the lives around her. The legacy of Marilyns life gives weight to the words she so carefully composed in this book. Marilyn herself has done exactly what shes exhorting you to do read the Word, speak the Word, and then do it!
