Ive had the privilege and honor of coaching over 20,000 elite people in the last decade. It always intrigues me when I see someone stand out in our busy world by doing the work.

Writing a book is no joke. I know. Ive written 13 of them. Number 13 was just as hard, if not harder, than writing number one. So, before I get into it, I want to honor Burton for tapping into his superpower of focus and hammering out a book that will go on to change lives for generations. Congratulations, bro!

Now on to the good part

I believe that the man who is willing to risk it all on himself is the most powerful man in the room. Im not talking about gambling, either. Im talking about men who have moved their families across the country for a commission-only job and made life-changing money. Im talking about men who have spent their last dime to start a business that has made them millions.

Burton is one of those men. I dont want to spoil the book, but he moved his family to an unknown market, with no guarantee of anything, and no salary. He bet on his skills and work ethic, and his bet paid off.

Burton first came to my office in mid-2019. He requested a meeting with me through one of my sales reps. The sales rep said to me, This guy is insisting on meeting you. He seems pretty cool; its probably worth meeting him. So, I had him set up the meeting.

I met with Burton in person at my office a few days later. When he told me his story (which is now in this book), I told him he HAD to write a book about it. Looks like he listened and took action. (Gotta love it!)

After coaching Burton and getting to know him, I encouraged him to spread his experiences and knowledge to a greater base. Because Ive seen up close how he performs in life, I want as many people as possible to learn from him.

Burton and I have also partnered on a digital product called The KnockStars, and we actually strapped a GoPro camera to him and sent him to knock on the doors of complete strangers and sell them a roof. Im telling you, I got it on videoBurton is one of the best ever to do such a challenging chore!

Im not just Burtons mentor and business partner, though. Im also one of his best friends. Our kids are even growing up together.

Which reminds meIll tell you a story about Burton that definitely wont be anywhere else in this book!

Recently, Burton got a brand new 450 Honda Dirt Bike. He knows my sons and I ride ATVs every weekend, so he asked to go with us on his new bike.

At the park, we suited up and headed out on our bikes. We crossed a creek and rode up some pretty gnarly hills, high above the water below. I made a hard right turn, with my 9-year-old riding his ATV close behind me. As I got around the switchback, I saw Burton and his brand-new bike slide right down the side of the hill. Hell, it hadnt even been cranked for seven minutes! With no hesitation, Burton hopped up, dragged his bike up the hill, and said, Im good. Lets go! What a champion! Nothing deters him! Thats Burton.

No setbacks, falls, or slips hold him down.

He popped up with that bike two times as fast as he fell off. Thats a serious metaphor for Burtons life and this book. Hes the king of bouncing back and landing on his feet quickly.

This book will open your eyes to the possibilities that are right in front of you. As awesome as he is, Burton isnt special: He just puts in the work. And I find that common among those at the top. They arent necessarily the smartest; they just outwork everyone else. Burton has a proven system he lives by at home and work, and anyone can duplicate it. Its just a matter of actually doing what you need to do.

Youre about to read a book thats the true rags-to-riches story about a kid with dreams who grew up to be a man who simply checks off items on his bucket list.

INTRODUCTION

What 3 Things Do You Want To Improve In Your Life?

That question is the first thing I ask an audience when I speak at an event.

I ask this because, at any one time, most of us know exactly what we would like to change in our lives. But we usually dont do anything about it.

Answering this question is simple. But people make it complicated. The majority of them focus on whats wrong in their lives rather than what is right.

As you read this book, I encourage you to keep your answers close.

You are about to prime your mind to go after what you want and change what you dont like. And you will need to be strategic to get after it. There is no other choice.

You are about to find your purpose and reinvigorate your life with meaning.

Its not enough to go through your existence without ambition.

I tried it, and 1000/10 of those times, I would not repeat.

Floating through life purposelessly will not get you what you want. You will not have the relationships you want. You will not have the fulfillment you want. You will not have the finances you want. You will not have the business you want.

Thinking that you can treat your existence as a game of hit and miss will undoubtedly set you up for more losses than wins.

(But maybe you already know this?)

Every notable goal has been achieved through purpose. That is why I advise people frequently to do everything with purpose and answer that question. It all ties together and is integral to your success.

Be intentional with your actions. It is the least you can do for yourself.

If your life is lacking purpose, there is really no point in living at all. You are not appreciating the gift you were given and the opportunity to make the best of yourself. This is your responsibility.

Why?

You were put here to live your purpose. Its why you exist. You werent put here to take up space and never give back.
