"Fiddler on theRoof" By Mendes de Almeida SMASHWORDS EDITION * * * * * PUBLISHED BY: Mendes de Almeida on Smashwords "Fiddler on the Roof" Copyright 2012 by Mendes de Almeida What about theFiddler? Who is the Fiddler ? Is this story about intolerance ? Itcertainly is. On the abuse of power by the majority over a smallergroup of individuals. They are different. They have a religion, abelief. And theirs is not a moto of intolerance, theirs is a beliefon life. Still, difference makes them a target.

An easy one. Whenconditions arise, mostly by a totally unexpected event, they are inthe frontline. This is a tale on life. How life endures, changes, and after adversity, there is still hope. Hope on thefuture, on freedom, on mankind. Still you may leave land, friendsand family behind.

The quest so obliges. It's about wealth. Money makes thingseasier. Yet, there may be a turn of the tide. Property can vanish.Other things remain. On love.

On family and personal love. Howlove is stronger than prejudice, tradition and adversity. Love thatremains in spite of wealth, distance, dissent and religion. On howlove can lead life. It's also a story on choice. By a twist offaith, sides must be chosen.

Unfortunately, convenience is morepopular than humanity. Some go for brutality, some depart. Still, adoor has to be crossed. A story on change. On permanent change. Thecertainty of change.

That fantastic sequence of little moments thatmakes life. All so diverse, yet to be lived and felt, certain ofthe afterwards. And destiny. Fortunately, the future isbeyond reach. If the good and the bad to come were of ourknowledge, life would be miserable. The obscure time of life anddeath is a gift.

The turns and twists are beyond control, sounpredictable, occasionally so unfair. Destiny plays with us, evenlaughs at us. So does the Fiddler. This visual essay is the second part of theseries on the plays produced by Filipe LaFria. It is a narrativeon the hidden world that repeats itself every time this story istold. This essay is also a tribute to thefantastic work and dedication to the THEATER of Filipe LaFria andhis collaborators, who, one time after another, tell us fabulousstories about life.
