One way you know Priscilla Shirer can discern the voice of God is how powerfully she proclaims it. God is all over this young woman. I know of no stronger, clearer voice for our ailing culture. When Christ speaks through her, we do well to sit up straight and listen.
B ETH M OORE, AUTHOR AND SPEAKER
Learning to discern the voice of God can be something many believers struggle to understand. They worry about missing Gods voice, or not hearing Him at all. Priscillas study takes this very important spiritual discipline and makes it simple without making it commonplace. We highly recommend this as a discipleship tool. It has made a tremendous impact on the women of our church.

Remember What He Wants to Accomplish
I have called you friends
John 15:15
T here are acquaintances, and then there are friends.
Acquaintances recognize you when they see you, ask about the ages of your children, wonder whens the last time you heard from someone you both used to know.
Take care. Nice to see you.
But friendsget two friends together for ten minutes, and theyre into each others lives, not just their Christmas letters. Theyre connecting by heart, not just by a hug or a handshake.
And thats how I feel right now, connecting with you through the pages of this booklike friends. Perhaps you were here with me before, several years ago, when I first put this message down on paper, or youve gone through the six-week Bible study Discerning the Voice of God. And now, we have a chance to catch up and expand on what weve learned since.
If this is our first time to meet up like this, then Im glad to have you as a new friend, because we have a hunger to hear from God that unites us in spirit. Probably one that each of us would freely admit some frustration over, but in the end, something we know we simply cannot live without.
And thank God, we dont have to.
Perhaps, like me, youve spent far too many years of your life not hearing or at least not recognizing His voice. Youve read in the Bible about people to whom He spoke. Youve heard from believers today who talk about how God has spoken to them. But maybe only rarely, if ever, would you say that youve experienced this kind of connection with Him yourself.
