Challenging, engaging, encouraging, and informative, Asa Andrew answers the hard questions and provides real solutions; addressing a wide variety of topics: digestion and proper food choices, how to avoid and rid the body of toxins, the dually important roles of rest and exercise, and the delicate balance of the endocrine system and how to improve and maintain it. Like Dave Ramseys approach to getting out of debt, Asa Andrew is challenging people to take responsibility for their own health and giving them the tools to do just that.

DEDICATION

I read this dedication to my dad the last week of his life. He couldnt talk anymore because he had an oxygen mask over his face. But as I read this to him he looked at me, smiled, and slightly squeezed my hand. I knew what he was trying to say. He was one of the greatest men I ever knew.

This is what I wrote.

This book is dedicated to my father. He and my mother adopted me as an orphan, and gave me a home. He taught me many valuable lessons in lifeusually not in his words, but always in his actions. Principles like love, forgiveness, perseverance, faithfulness, and belief in myself. I gleaned these qualities from him, and they have made me the man I am today. My fathers unfailing love has helped me achieve all my goals in life, including this book.

So thanks, Dad, thanks for choosing to love me when I had no one. For giving me a name when I didnt have one. For giving me a home when I didnt have one. For providing for me when you didnt have to. For giving me a life when I seemingly didnt have much of one. For giving me the greatest title a little boy and man could ever ask for. Thank you for calling me your son. I am so grateful God handpicked you to be my father. You empowered my life in so many ways, so that I could empower the lives of others. I will always love you.

To you, the readerFor picking this book up and taking the most difficult step toward your healththe first one. I wrote this for you because I believe in you.

JUST LIKE OUR WEALTH,
HEALTH IS REALLY JUST GOOD OLD COMMON SENSE

Winning with money is 80 percent behavior; its only 20 percent head knowledge. For years Ive been teaching common sense concepts people can follow to change their behavior and get control of their money. The problem is that common sense isnt very common anymore.

Its the same thing with healthcareyou have to take responsibility for your behavior. Just as I teach about money, Dr. Asa Andrew reminds us we cant rely on anyone to take care of our health for us. We have to take responsibility by choosing to make healthy lifestyle choices each and every day.

A while back, I saw myself on TV and wondered who that fat guy was. I had been working so hard I had abandoned the care of my physical condition. I knew that I had to do something to change the habits that made me look like that. I made the choice to eat better and exercise more. It wasnt rocket scienceit was common sense. You lose weight if you eat less and exercise more.
