Publishers Note: Fifteen of the twenty-five chapters in this edition were originally published in previous books by Pastor Frangipane. These particular chapters were actually written over a span of twenty-seven years. They were selected because of their consistency with the theme of this book. Like the scribe who brings out of his treasure things new and old (Matt. 13:52), we felt these messages added a depth to this study on seeking God. It is our prayer that, together with the ten new chapters, the message of this book will bring added substance to your already inspired life.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY I feel Ive been writing this book my entire adult life. This was not the case with any of my previously published themes. The books on spiritual warfare or church unity, or even the vision of attaining Christs likeness, all came farther down the path. However, the reality of seeking God has been different. The fabric of this truth has been woven into my spiritual life since I first came to Christ in 1969.
Perhaps it is because my inherent skills are generally average that I am frequently compelled to seek Gods help. In this regard my insufficiencies serve me well. But, beyond my frequent need of divine intervention, I have also hungered to truly know the Lord. I believe that the real goal of Christianity is not to create a religion about God but that we would actually know Him, experiencing firsthand the wonders and power of His incomparable life.
Thus I have discovered that each time I seek the Lord, the deliberate movement of my heart toward Him leads me into far more than a simple answer to my need. In seeking God, I actually find Him. I reconnect with the living Onemy rescuer, my redeemer, and the restorer of my soul. I have an answer, but I also have an ally whose wisdom is all encompassing and whose incalculable power can transform all things with just the look of His gaze.
As I look at many in the church who are pining away spiritually, it is obvious to me that the great need of Christians is for more of God, even as the psalmist wrote, God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there is anyone who understands, who seeks after God (Ps. 53:2).
Seeking Godpossessing a heart after Godthis is the key that unlocks everything.

ALL WE NEED
IS MORE OF GOD
When You said, Seek My face, my heart said to You,
Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.
[PSALM 27:8]
Chapter One
THE TENT OF MEETING
T HERE ARE CERTAIN times when the Lord calls us out of the routine of our daily lives. These are special seasons where His only command is, Seek My face. The Lord has something precious and vitally important to give us that the familiar pattern of our daily lives cannot accommodate. During such times people are often delivered of sins that have plagued them for years; others discover a new depth in their walk with God and, thus, greater effectiveness in ministry and prayer. Still others obtain breakthroughs for their families and friends as the Lord, in response to their drawing near to Him, brings their loved ones into His kingdom.
Many times we expect spiritual breakthroughs to occur automatically, but most things we obtain from Heaven arrive via our asking, seeking, and knocking. In other words, we have not because we ask not. Pursuing the Lord is the secret to a fulfilled life.
Recall the words of King David. He was a man who was forced to live in the wilderness; he was hunted by enemies and slandered throughout the nation by King Saul and his cohorts. David had many reasons to fear, yet instead he lived boldly. Where did Davids confidence come from? He said, I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears (Ps. 34:4).
David wasnt delivered from all [his] fears simply in the routine of lifes course. No, he said, I sought the Lord... and He... delivered me. When we seek God, our faith is restored. As we draw near to the fullness of God, our fear is subdued.
HIGHEST GOAL IN SEEKING GOD
Those who understand the ways of God know that many of the greatest realities God has for us are gifts He has hidden in His heart. To obtain these blessings, God must be sought. You see, the Lord not only desires to bless us, but He also wants us to draw near to Him. He wants us to discover and know His deep love for us.
Thus, the highest form of seeking God is not for personal needs or even for other people. There comes a time when we seek God for Himself. Maturity comes as we break the cycle of seeking God only during times of hardship. A touch from God is wonderful, but we are in pursuit of more than just an experiencemore than goose bumps and tears. We are seeking a place of abiding in Christ, where we are keenly aware of His presence within us.
