Shuddhaanandaa Brahmachari - Living with My Himalayan Master: Sri Sri Bhajan Brahmachari - A Biography

It is with incomprehensible joy that I share the life and teachings of my dear Master and Gurudev with you in Sri Sri Bhajan Brahmachari, A Biography: Living with My Himalayan Master.

When the great Himalayan Master Mahayogi Baba Lokenath Brahmachari appeared to me at my Gurudev Thakur Bhajan Brahmacharis ashram, he commanded me to write and spread out. That ultimately gave birth to The Incredible Life of a Himalayan Yogi: The Times, Teachings and Life of Living Shiva, Baba Lokenath Brahmachari. Over the years, though, deep within, I have carried the silent pain of having yet to offer my love, in the form of my Gurudevs biography, at his lotus feet. An unseen force had plunged me into spreading the message of Baba Lokenath all over the world. I had no time to focus on writing the biography of my dear Master.

Then in 2015, the call came from within. It was as if my Master was whispering, The task I gave you in 1982 is almost complete. Now you can come back to me and spread the message I seeded in you. The world is ready to hear my message of Pure Love. Love is the sole need at this critical juncture of human history. Meditation alone is not enough. First the heart center needs to be opened. We have to realize that love alone can connect us to the plane of consciousness founded in our relationship with our eternal Beloved based on our personal faith and beliefs.

My spiritual brother Prabhat Kumar Ray, another close disciple of my Master, had preserved every published article about Thakur and collected many other written materials on Thakur. After researching contact information for most of Thakurs close devotees, disciples, and family members, Prabhat obtained notes and interviews from them. He cross-referenced books from the library to confirm the authenticity of those resources and to validate their chronology. It was as if Thakur had inspired him to do all of the spadework necessary to help me. Prabhats dedicated work allowed me put it all together and reaffirm how this land has always attracted the holiest of holy souls from the higher astral planes to become beacons for humanity and its seekers of light and ultimate reality.

Dr. Banerjee, an early devotee of Thakur, recorded his own experiences and those of other devotees in a notebook that he entitled, The Guru as I See Him. One day, my Master handed that notebook to me and said, Keep this. Someday it could be of some use to you. Indeed, that proved to be invaluable when I was contemplating how to approach writing Thakurs biography. Many of the episodes contained here on Thakurs life have been taken from Dr. Banerjees notebook. I am privileged to share them with you as a reader. Though Dr. Banerjee has left this world, his efforts remain as the authentic account of a Divine Life. For simplicity and clarity, all material from Dr. Banerjee is shown as quotes, which are indented and italicized.

The golden phase of my life came as I had all the materials I needed. I was finally ready to meditate on my Master, the simple and humble being of light he was, and paint the canvas of his life and teachings. In my initial days as a devotee, it had been Thakur who had possessed me. Then in 1982, Thakur offered me as his Guru dakshina (offering to ones own Guru) into the service of his Grand Master, Baba Lokenath. He shifted the task of spreading the message of Baba Lokenath, which had been his, to me. From 1990 on, I was single-pointedly immersed in the life and teachings of the Himalayan Master and spreading Baba Lokenaths message around the world. For me, Thakur had merged into Baba Lokenath. I saw him in Baba Lokenath and Baba Lokenath in him. Then in 2015, my Master re-emerged. Thakur possessed me again. The irrepressible longing to spread Thakurs message, as I had done all these years for Baba Lokenath, took fresh hold of me. The incubation of Thakurs biography had begun.
