Gabriel Cousens is a gentle master on the path toward health for ourselves and our planet. He brings the great tradition of the Essenes to us in modern language so that it can be used in every aspect of our daily lives.
Cousenss innovative, holistic vision of peace is a welcome new insight that deserves the attention of anyone concerned with living more consciously.
Dedication
TO DR. EDMOND BORDEAUX SZEKELY, whose genius and Renaissance awareness have made volumes of translated books about the Essenes available to the world. Dr. Szekely was a true luminary who inspired the author with his clarity and depth of understanding of the Essene Way of Life and the Sevenfold Path of Peace.
To Swami Muktananda Paramahansa, the authors first enlightened spiritual teacher, without whose transmission of grace and guidance in this ones spiritual unfoldment this book could not have been written.
To Swami Prakashananda Saraswati, this ones second enlightened spiritual teacher, whose personal guidance and Agaram Bagaram life have been a source of continual inspiration, love, and spiritually sophisticated understanding of Gabriels post-enlightenment maturing.
To Shanti, Gabriels soulmate and life partner, who actively lives and shares the truth of the Sevenfold Path of Peace with her beloved and is a constant source of inspiration.
To Gabriels wonderful children, Rafael and Heather, and grandchildren, Rhea and Katja. May you know peace in your generations.
To all the grandfathers and grandmothers and other noble souls inspired to transition into the Culture of Life and Liberation for themselves and the sake of succeeding generations.
And to the teachings of the Torah and of the prophets who have come before us and have shared the following teachings.
An ancient tradition says that each of the six hundred thousand people present at the communication of the Torah (the ever-renewing teaching given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai, without punctuation, and with at least four levels of interpretation so that it may be reinterpreted anew in each generation, also known as the Old Testament) were given at least one section to interpret and share as a teaching with their brothers and sisters. In each generation these meaningful teachings of ancient wisdom are passed forward. In this book Gabriel shares several teachings related to peace.
I will put my Torah in their inner parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people; and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord; for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, sayeth the Lord.
Jeremiah 31:32
The Torah is the living cosmic Truth of the Nothing (Ein Sof) that is already encoded in our inner parts (our spiritual anatomy) and heart. The Culture of Life and Liberation is presently activating these holographic patterns, which are essential for creating world peace as the result of the activation of ourselves as a living prayer of peace.
Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house, unto the land that I will show thee.
Genesis 12:1
God as the name El Shaddai (the nurturer) instructs Avraham, Lech Lecha. From the viewpoint of the Culture of Life and Liberation and the Sevenfold Path of Peace, this means Go to the Self (I Am That). To do this one must let go of attachments and ego identifications with parents, culture, country, thought forms, illusion of the personality, and all identification with the body-mind-I Am complex; let go and surrender into the Divine Self. This book is a blessing to inspire and support the reader in the eternal journey of Lech Lecha. In the Divine Presence of the inner self, emanating out of the silence of the Self is the direct knowledge of Peace, the Pearl of Great Price, and the most cherished awareness an Essene may hold.
And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the suckling child play on the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the vipers nest. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.
Isaiah 11:610
And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, on which is the fruit yielding seed: to you it shall be for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the air, and to every thing that creeps on the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so.
Genesis 1:29
These two quoted passages speak to a deep meaning of world peace. The holographic expression of peace will be so strong in every species that even the carnivorous animals, including humans, will return to a plant-source-only diet again and return to the teachings of Genesis 1:29. Genesis 1:29 describes the original biblical diet, which not only brings peace to the body and has the potential to prevent or heal most chronic diseases such as diabetes, but helps us return to the Culture of Life and Liberation from the planetary and personal misery caused by a Culture of Death lifestyle. Although we cannot eat our way to God, this biblical cuisine creates a normal brain chemistry and awakens consciousness.
And He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide concerning mighty nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Micah 4:3 and Isaiah 2:4
In the flaming power of the Divine Presence, the ego, which is the source of all war, is burned up. The egoic domination of consciousness, which is the source of power of the Culture of Death, is incinerated into ashes, and out of these ashes arises the Culture of Life and Liberation, in which consciousness guides the ego into proper service to the unspoken will of God.
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Leviticus 19:18
