CHAPTER ONE
Feng Shui and Abundance
Feng Shui has become popular worldwide for a simple reasonit helps people live happier, healthier, and more abundant lives. Feng Shui helps you create positive change in your life by improving the energy flows of your home, property, body, and mind. It does this by deepening your connection with your living environments, and arranging these environments in powerful, harmonious ways.
Your environment profoundly affects every aspect of your life. An out-of-sync or imbalanced home or office space creates undesirable effects that can range from mild discomfort to profound alienation to loss. Feng Shui unlocks the mystery of the relationship between you and your surroundings. In addition, it provides both practical and spiritual methods for cultivating harmony, peace, and beauty that yield inner and outer abundance. You can improve the flow of energy in your home and strengthen inner abundance at the same time. This can help you shape your destiny, enliven your relationships, and reap both tangible and intangible benefits. These are the purposes, the promises, and the fruits of Feng Shui.
Human beings have always craved abundance and prosperity, and have devised innumerable methods and schemes to try to acquire them. No doubt, our more ambitious prehistoric ancestors went that extra mile to acquire and set aside an extra hunk of saber-toothed tiger for a rainy day. Like them, our desire for more (whether meat, caviar, or green stuff: cash-ola) brings up the practical question, How do I get it? Today, in our quest for abundance, we dont have to worry about ending up as kitty food. Plus, we have Feng Shui solutions (among other things) that werent available to cave dwellers. Lucky us!
Abundance is not just about having lots of money and things. Abundance in Feng Shui means a surplus of qilife force energyand an inner and outer balance that manifests spiritual and material fruits over and above mere subsistence.
NOTE: You might have seen the term qi spelled chi or ki; these terms all refer to the same force.
In the deepest sense, abundance is a spiritual quality; we are impoverished or abundant first within our consciousness, and then in the material realm. (As within, so without. As above, so below.) Our spirits know this to be true, but our socialized personalities tend to equate abundance almost exclusively with material wealth.
True abundance results from living in balance and harmony. Creating an atmosphere of peace and calm is priceless, and far better than worrying constantly about money, money, money. Only then, can you make proper decisions and take the actions that bring prosperity your way.

GRANDMASTER LIN YUN RINPOCHE AND FENG SHUI
The style of Feng Shui I present in this book is Black Sect Tantric Buddhist Feng Shui (or BTB Feng Shui). BTB Feng Shui focuses on the qi of the person as well as the environment, helping to bring both to a more uplifted state. As taught by Grandmaster Lin Yun, it integrates spiritual methods and modern teachings with the traditions of Feng Shui practice. When I refer to Feng Shui in this book, I am referring to this multifaceted approach.
Many people are unaware of the powerful link between meditation and Feng Shui. That link is qi, the vital energy that animates all living things. Both Feng Shui and meditation are forms of qi circulation and cultivation. One is more external, and the other more internal, but both improve the flow and balance of your energy. They are the yin and yang of Feng Shui.
A MULTIFACETED APPROACH
Feng Shui works on the physical plane by arranging and harmonizing objects in physical space. It also works to affect change at a more subtle level by stimulating you toward action or inaction, clarity or confusion. Your body, mind, and spirit are as much a part of your environment as are your external surroundings, such as your home or office. Yet, many people fall into the trap of putting all their Feng Shui eggs into one basket and focusing solely on one facet, such as furniture placement or color selection. This limited approach can produce positive life effects, but it may not create enough power for optimal results.
