Demons have come to kill, steal, and destroy. They take possession of lives, oppress believers and wreak havoc on the plans of God for His people. Could they be the source of YOUR struggles? Jesus did not say to counsel demons out or to medicate them out; He said, Cast them out!Every day, we give demons too much power when in fact, Jesus has given us authority to bind them and command them to leave. In When Pigs Move In, Don Dickerman delivers principles for deliverance, providing stories of men and women whose lives have been transformed because someone looked the devil right in the eye and commanded: In Jesus name, get OUT! Dickerman includes interviews and insight into such notable conversions as David Berkowitz (Son of Sam), Ed Ferncombe (one of Irelands worst criminals), and many others who have been delivered and set free.

Failure or refusal to obey Gods commandments brings a curse. If we expect to stay free of sin curses, we must walk in obedience to God. Very simply put, disobedience is a door opener, and one of the best biblical evidences is the children of Israel. They came totally and completely out of bondage and went right back into another kind of bondage by disobeying God.

How can you know if you are under a sin curse? First of all, have you despised God or refused to hearken to His voice? Gods blessings come to those who are doers of His Word. Curses come upon all who wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes (Deut. 28:15). The Bible specifically names many sins that result in curses.

Thirty-seven Biblical Curses

1. Idolatry (either making or worshiping an idol) (Exod. 20:5; Deut. 27:15)

2. Incest with ones sister, mother-in law, or fathers wife (Deut. 27:2223)

3. Adultery (Lev. 20:10; Num. 5:27; Deut. 22:2227; Job 24:1518)

4. Cruelty to a handicapped person (Deut. 27:18)

5. Oppressing the defenseless (Deut. 27:19)

6. Fornication (Deut. 22:2129)

7. Dishonoring ones parents (Deut. 27:16)

8. Sexual relationship with any animal (Deut. 27:21)

9. Defrauding ones neighbor (Deut. 27:17)

10. Homosexual relationships (Gen. 19:125; Lev. 20:13)

11. Sexual intercourse during menstruation (Lev. 20:18)

12. Marrying a woman and her mother (Lev. 20:14)

13. Rape (Deut. 22:25)

14. Children conceived out of wedlock (Deut. 23:2)

15. Accursed objects in ones possession (Deut. 7:26; Josh. 7:1015)

16. Any occult practicedivination, sorcery, omens, witchcraft, consulting a medium, and consulting the dead (Lev. 20:6, 27; Deut. 18:913)

17. Murder (Deut. 11:28; 27:24)

18. Murder for hire, including those who are paid to perform abortions (Deut. 27:25)

19. Forsaking the Lord (Deut. 28:20)

20. Not serving the Lord joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity (Deut. 28:47)

21. Not reverencing the name of the Lord God (Deut. 28:114, 58)

22. Presumption in thought so that one disregards Gods Word and devises his own way (Deut. 29:19)

23. Cursing or mistreating Abrahams seed (Gen. 12:3; Num. 24:9)

24. Refusing to help in the Lords warfare (Judg. 5:23; Jer. 48:10)

25. Failure to give God the glory (Mal. 2:2)

26. Robbing God of tithes and offerings (Hag. 1:69; Mal. 3:9)

27. Neglecting the work of the Lord (Jer. 48:10)

28. Enticing others away from the Lord into a false religion (Deut. 13:69)

29. Taking away or adding to the Word of God (Rev. 22:1819)

30. Teaching rebellion against the Lord (Jer. 28:1617)

31. Refusing to warn those who sin (Ezek. 3:1821)

32. Defiling the Sabbath (Exod. 31:14; Num. 15:3236)

33. Perversion of the gospel of Christ (Gal. 1:89)

34. Cursing ones rulers (Exod. 22:28; 1 Kings 2:89)

35. Refusal to forgive others after asking God to forgive you (Matt. 18:3435)

36. Child sacrifice, such as abortion (Lev. 18:21; Deut. 18:10)

37. Disobedience against any of the Lords commandments (Deut. 11:28; 27:26)

Some people dismiss these truths because they are, for the most part, from the Old Testament. Some pastors teach that they do not apply today, but these are biblical principles or laws set into effect by Jehovah God. Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. He actually broadened it and made it spiritual as well as physical.

Remember what He said about adultery, murder, and anger. (See Matthew 5:1728.) The law saysbut I say. While the law condemned adultery, Jesus included looking upon a woman with lust in ones heart. The law said not to murder. Jesus said, Dont be angry, showing that anger is the seed of murder. He did not destroy the law; He fulfilled it and widened its scope.

The simplest way to determine whether or not one is under a curse is by comparing his life to the blessings God has promised to those who love Him. If one is not blessed, he is cursed. How does your life measure up to the blessings enumerated in Deuteronomy 28:114? Are you set on high by God, a lender and not a borrower, the head and not the tail? Is your life characterized by fruitfulness? Do you prosper coming and going? Are you free from the harassment of enemiesboth natural and spiritual? Is your life a success? Is your relationship with God gratifying? Are you recognizing and fulfilling His purposes? These are the earmarks of a blessed life. If one is not enjoying the blessing, then he is suffering the curse. There is no in between.

Yet another way to determine if curses are in operation is to look for the effects of curses. Common effects of curses are poverty, barrenness, pestilence, chronic sickness, failure, defeat, humiliation, insanity, torment, perpetual traumas, spiritual hindrances, domination by others, and abandonment by God and others. (See Deuteronomy 28:2068.)

Grouping of Various Evil Spirits

May I say that while this may be valuable information to some, it is really no more than an identification of the functions of demons. You might even say that any demon could have any of these functions. More important than the curse is the cause. I do not deal with demons by function but rather by their individual names, and then by their assignment in that individuals life. They all have identities.
