Nopain is greater than the pain of loving a prodigal. Each morning you feel you must scratch and claw your way to the lowest level of the peace of Christ. Is there nothing you can do?
Far from nothing, there is something of infinite value; value to you and to the one you so frantically love. You can pray. You can call down power from on high. Praying Your Prodigal Home is the story of how one man prayed for his prodigal son, but it is not like the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal, where in one day the prayers were offered and salvation dropped from heaven like lightning. This is like the story of Abraham, who was promised a blessing but did not see its fulfillment for decades. Richard Burr has learned the power of patient, persistent, prevailing prayer. As a faithful disciple, he is sharing the truth of Gods Word with you, filtered through the lens of his own experience. This book is full of grace. It is full of hope. It is a path that can lead both you and your prodigal home.
Pastor Jay Abramson, Ph.D. Valley Community Baptist Church
As former prodigals ourselves, we understand the blindness of a prodigal to his own circumstances and the anguish, guilt and sense of helplessness of those who are close to a prodigal. In Richard Burrs Praying Your Prodigal Home, he reveals that this situation is not without hope. Rather, God is calling us into action. He stands ready to equip us to be active participants in the spiritual battle for the very souls of the prodigals. Triumphantly, we find that our anguish, guilt and helplessness are transformed into true love for the prodigal, joy in being a part of the will of God and peace in knowing that God is always our hope and strength in a seemingly hopeless situation.

A moving account of Gods transforming grace in the life of a father and sonwritten by a tender father who, in honesty, exposes his personal pain.
This gripping story sheds light on the incredible power of intercessory prayer which persistently, and rightly, believes that God accomplishes His good purposes in the lives of those whose names are carried to the throne of grace.
Bruce Fiol, senior pastor Marco Presbyterian Church
In Praying Your Prodigal Home, you are going to read about practical and down-to-earth ways to reach out to God and to pray for those you love who are living in a far country.
Be thankful for the book you hold in your hands and for the man who is honest enough and wise enough to write it. But, far more than that, rejoice and be thankful for a God who cares and loves your prodigal more than you do.

Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
(John 1:29, NKJV)
A lmost all Christians have a prodigal in their lifesomeone who they desperately want to know the love, peace and salvation that comes with an eternal relationship with our great God and Savior through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. And yet, in spite of all our fervent prayers and attempts to share the truth with these people, they continually reject it, and oftentimes us as well. It is easy to start doubting that they will ever experience what we so deeply wish and pray for them.
It is for this reason that I so highly recommend Praying Your Prodigal Home. As one who has both lived as a prodigal and experienced the pain of loving and pursuing a prodigal, Richard Burr has gathered much wisdom on the subject and shares it here in a very clear and readable fashion. His perspectives on the powerful love of God (which makes ours pale in comparison), on how the Holy Spirit draws unbelievers to Himself and other truths will tremendously encourage all who read them.
And yet, this is not simply a book of comfortRichard presents some hard facts that we need to face. His purpose in writing this book was not to give the reader a warm dose of optimism. It is a call to actionnot just to share Christ and represent Him well, but to take our God-given opportunity to pray deeply and much more seriously for our prodigals.
This book is greatly needed, and for this reason I am indebted to Richard Burr. May you benefit from his transparency and wisdom, and may God move through your heart and mind as you read!
Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ
T he book you are about to read has been one of the most gut-wrenching projects that this writer has ever encountered. For, as you will see, it is punctuated with personal and family anecdotes that have been used to magnify the character, attributes and immutable precepts of God. But, quite frankly, some of the details have been painful to acknowledge publicly. In fact, one who has been privy to some of these events has said, Less is best. However, my purpose for sharing such personal experiences has not been to elevate man or to expose questionable choices and/or deeds, but to focus exclusively upon the
