This book was produced in EPUB format by the Internet Archive.
The book pages were scanned and converted to EPUB format automatically. This process relies on optical character recognition, and is somewhat susceptible to errors. The book may not offer the correct reading sequence, and there may be weird characters, non-words, and incorrect guesses at structure. Some page numbers and headers or footers may remain from the scanned page. The process which identifies images might have found stray marks on the page which are not actually images from the book. The hidden page numbering which may be available to your ereader corresponds to the numbered pages in the print edition, but is not an exact match; page numbers will increment at the same rate as the corresponding print edition, but we may have started numbering before the print book's visible page numbers. The Internet Archive is working to improve the scanning process and resulting books, but in the meantime, we hope that this book will be useful to you.

Foreword
IN the transforming process necessary for the mind to determine What is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God, selection was made of Power from on High as the book next in line of succession to those already made available without money and without price by the World-wide Revival Prayer Movement. Not only do we find within its covers a marvellous record of a revival, the influence of which has lasted until the present timemore than 200 years but we have pen portraits of many mighty men of God who have contributed to the vitality of this Spiritinaugurated movement. The noble Count Zinzendorf, under whose leadership the revival started; that preacher of true righteousnessJohn Wesley and his brother Charlesof whom it may be truly said, he being dead yet speaketh, for his matchless songs are still used throughout the world, both graduates of Oxford University; George Whitefield, another of Great Britains stalwart contenders for the faith once delivered to the saints, and numbers of others whose names time would fail to mention here, Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises I May The Lord of hosts, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working use the message of this booklet to stir afresh revival flames, and may we like these men of old count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Introduction
TT TfE shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and
f~i with fire (Matthew iii. n).
JL JL a And jje sajj unt0 ^em) These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets and in the Psalms concerning Me 1 Then opened He their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures. And He said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you : but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke xxiv. 44-49).
And, being assembled together with them, He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, you have heard of Me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore come together, they asked of Him saying, Lord, wilt Thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel ? And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you : and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts i. 4-8).
INTRODUCTION
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts ii. 1-4).
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together ; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the Word of God with boldness (Acts iv. 31).
And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost (Acts vi. 5).
Now when the Apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John : who, when they were
come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet He was fallen upon none of them : only they were baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost (Acts viii. 14-17).
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the Word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts x. 44-45).
