Is it possible to find meaning in life after the death of a child? This is the question that steered Linda Kolsky to a quest for answers after she lost her son to undetermined, natural causes at the age of eighteen. While her journey started as a process of grieving, it soon evolved into much more than that. Linda found herself exploring ancient metaphysics, quantum science, electromagnetism, and epigenetics, all in the hope of finding ultimate answers to the biggest questions about who we are and why we are here. In Heavenly Hindsights, the author shares the surprising insights and wisdom she gained along the way.

PRAISE FOR HEAVENLY HINDSIGHTS With over a decade in experience with energy - photo 1

PRAISE FOR

HEAVENLY HINDSIGHTS

With over a decade in experience with energy work and my passion for Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique and past-life regression, I highly recommend Heavenly Hindsights to anyone that is seeking healing in this life or another. Grief is inevitable, but it doesnt have to destroy us. We are capable of self-healing and highly capable of adjusting our surroundings with intent and personal power, and Linda proves this in her book. We are never separate from our loved ones or ourselves. Heavenly Hindsights is life changing and will bring healing, joy, and peace to your soul.

MELANIE AGUIRRE , Starseed Solutions, Past-Life Regressionist

Every bereaved parent has a unique journey to the quiet phase of grief. We dont forget; we always remember and find a way to live our lives. Linda not only shows the path she took for healing, she shows how this journey created a profound path of meaning for her. The healing ends and life begins anew. I applaud Linda for finding her path and sharing it with us.

RADHA STERN , Author of Griefprints: A Practical Guide for Supporting a Grieving Person , Steering Committee Member: The Compassionate Friends

In Heavenly Hindsights , Linda joins her voice with her son, Patrick, to create an understanding of the personal and spiritual meaning of what happened during his life and his death. Her courageous, authentic, and sincere journey of self-discovery has led her to profound life lessons and spiritual truths that she outlines in each chapter, along with references to sources she has found helpful. That she has found peace and meaning is a hopeful message for others also seeking to understand the death of a loved one, rise above the pain, and apply what is learned to continued healing and growth.

REV. BARBARA MEYERS, Author of Held: Showing Up For Each Others Mental Health ; Mental Health Community Minister; Mission Peak Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Linda Kolsky provides a compelling and comforting perspective of life, and our existence before and after life, as we conventionally think of it. Using personal experience, her own training, and a multitude of references, Ms. Kolsky guides us through her life and that of her son, both before and after (in the case of her son) their current incarnations; the organization of her material makes for gripping reading. The exposure she provides to this area of thought was engaging for me, a nonpracticing Catholic, and I drew much comfort from the idea that there is a plan for me and my loved ones, even if the elements of those plans arent always carefree and without pain. This book imparts understanding and provides substance to the overused, under-explained statement, Its all part of Gods plan. The book goes into quite some depth in areas of spiritual thought that initially felt unfamiliar to me and, after several repeated readings, felt cohesive and tangible; much food for thought here. I look forward to reading Heavenly Hindsights several more times, to explore other references and to appreciate more fully the spiritual concepts that Ms. Kolsky has so compellingly explored.

This book is dedicated to my husband, Alan, who has been the quiet but ever-present strength behind this work. This would not have happened without you! And to my daughter, Lauren, thank you for your enthusiasm and especially for inspiring me to look at life in a different way, filled with love and amazement.

Introduction

L IFE IS INDEED FASCINATING. Just like the grand plan of the Universe and our God, we will change when we are ready to receive. This is a memoir of a soul journey. In the simplest of terms, a soul journey is a search for oneself. This isnt just a search for an aspect of oneself or direct answers to why our lives have turned out the way they have. Its a quest to understand all aspects of ourselves, the entirety of who we are. This means we have to understand the Divine to a much greater extent than we do now. We are each a piece of God. We have been given so many gifts, powerful gifts, but we lost the memory of them. There is a calling at this time for all of us to get back in touch with our divine soul. The lives we have been leading for a couple of dozen centuries and how we have been living these lives is unsustainable. The biggest clue that this is happening is the unhappiness and fear and sense of victimhood many of us are experiencing right now, and we dont know why we are feeling this way. For some, the only way to ease this pain is to search for answers.

When it is time for something new, you will feel it. You will feel a desire to let go, to shed layers, to move, to recreate. You will know because there will be subtle shifts around you. You will release the old because you are really clearing the path for whats ahead. Trust this process. Know that life does not take from us anything unless there is something else imminently awaiting its replacement.

Brianna Wiest

There are other events that might set off a soul journey, other than the state of our world. Many of these are personal events that are big enough to wake us up and make us pay attention. Serious illness, a devastating loss, a life-changing experience... any one can be the final tipping point toward self-discovery. There are some blessed souls who do not have to experience a traumatic event to take this trip. They are born knowing what they need to do. Many of these people become our guides, our leaders, and our teachers. They can point out the way. I have been on two soul journeys, the one described in this book and one I embarked upon a decade earlier that I didnt even recognize as a soul journey. Not all soul journeys are spiritual, but they are effective nonetheless. Of course the most powerful ones are those where we are in partnership with the Divine... so much faster!

Both of my soul journeys were triggered by suffering and/or deep unhappiness. The first one was a response to the pervasive unhappiness (not depression) I experienced as a result of a difficult and traumatic childhood. The second one came as a result of the death of our eighteen-year-old son, Patrick, in 2003.

It was Patricks sudden and unexplained death that led me on a final quest for answers. Why did he die? How did I fit into this scenario? What was my influence in his life that led him to make the choices he did? What is the grand scheme of things? So many questions! There was so much I didnt know but knew that I had to learn. I explored my sons life through his journals to see exactly the part I played. This was just one aspect of the trip I took. Studying his life the way I did helped me to understand mine. The rest of what I had to learn was all on me!
