Follow the Manual: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Follow the Manual" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

He has now authored two books, both of them self-published and available at Xlibris. The first is entitled An Anthology of Stories about My Family, in which he relates some stories about his Caribbean history and his early days in America. He was motivated to write the current volume, Follow the Manual, as he witnessed societys deviation from what is ,written in Gods manual, the Holy Bible, and he wanted to help to bring about a change. Although he, might not get some people to change their opinions, concerning some of the issues that he, discussed in this book and about, which they already, seemed to have, settled in their minds, this book would at least, provoke a reopening of debates on these topics, and he, believes the latter result would have, accomplished a great portion of his intention. May God bless you and open your hearts as you read this book.

Dedication

I wish to dedicate this book to all the pastors, teachers, and students with whom Ive had Bible studies over the last thirty-plus years. Certainly, their various points of view and thoughts have helped me form some of my opinions. Some of those brothers and sisters are no longer with us, but I often remember them affectionately, and I do believe that, we who remain, if we stay faithful, we might see them once morethey seemed so faithful to Jesus Christ.

I am very thankful to them for their various encouragements. When I was weak and too timid to speak in public, they were patient with me; they led by examples and gave me a chance to lead out in our discussions. I owe them my sincere gratitude.

To those who remain, hold fast until Jesus comes, and I draw your attention to some words of the apo stle Paul:

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which a re asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and with the voice of the arch-angel, and the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall r ise first.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1Thessalonian s 4:1518)

And even as they did not retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not c onvenient.

R omans 1:28

Introduction

We are going to forego any discussion on the subject of evolution and enter directly into creationfor those of us who believe in the Holy Bible and purport to live by it as creationists accept creation by faith only and cannot prove it.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

For by it the elders obtained a go od report.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebr ew 11:13)

From the beginning and since the story of creation began, it was handed down from one generation to another orally. But God, in His infinite wisdom, raised up Moses, sheltered him from Pharaohs infanticide, allowed him to be brought up in an Egyptian palace where he could receive perhaps the most advanced education of his time, and subsequently inspired him to record the first five books of the Bible.

And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. ( Acts 7:22)

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in yo ur hearts;

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private inte rpretation

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Pete r 1:1921)

As time went on, other men of God were inspired to speak and write the Word of God to his people. All these things were canonized in the Holy Bible, which is Gods manual for us to live by. Any wise manufacturer of goods would provide a manual to the consumers who subsequently must use those goods. This idea was embedded in our DNA by ou r creator.

It is appalling to see that our leaders, who swear by the Bible to keep our laws, are not abiding by the teachings of it. They should swear in it and not on it!

This, know also, that in the last days perilous times s hall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankfu l, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than love rs of God:

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, from such turn away. (2 Timo thy 3:15)

Using the Bible as a manual, let us search it to find out what God would h ave us do.

Some writers would start personal pronouns and possessive adjectives with an upper case letter, when they are referring to members of the Godhead to express honor, and I shall do so throughout this book, except where those words are embedded in a verse that was quoted from the Bible, and a lower case letter was used to b egin them.

The Holy Bible

L et us begin with the Holy Bible, and our discussions will be based on principles derived from it. Even though there are several versions, quotations throughout this book shall be taken from the King James Version, which most people find to be quite reliable. In fact, for some people, no other version but the King James would be acceptable, but we must consider that the King James Version, like other versions, is also a translation from the Hebrew and Greek languages in which the Holy Bible was originally written. Some other reliable English bibles were written for the purpose of eliminating some archaic English words and other antiquated expressions that were spoken in the time when the King James Bible was written. Also, scholars might determine some more exact translations of the original writings as tim e goes on.

I heard of a foreign theological student who had invited his father to come to America to witness his graduation from a prestigious seminary. As he was showing his father around the campus during the days before the graduation ceremony, they stopped by the main library, and the son was very proud to show off the vast volumes of books to his dad. With bated breath, the father kept looking around. After a very long while, he whipped out a copy of the King James Bible from his coat pocket and, holding it up high, asked his son, All these just to expl ain this?

The apostle John tells us ,

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of this prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are within this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:1819)

We ought not to take the above text out of the context; the apostle John was writing about the book of Revelation. The Holy Bible is a compilation of sixty-six books: thirty-nine in the Old Testament and twenty-seven in the New. These books were written over a period of some 1,600 years, beginning around 1500 BC and ending around AD 100. It i s written:
