SCRIPTURES TO MEMORIZE
Why does God make salvation a gift through faith and not by works ?
It is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works , so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:89)
If we have been made right with God through faith , do we still need the law ?
The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith . And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. (Galatians 3:2425 NLT )
Since I cant become righteous by my works , what is the purpose of the law ?
No one will be declared righteous in Gods sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. (Romans 3:20)
From what has Christ set us free ?
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free . Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)
If righteousness could be gained through the law , what would that say about Christ ?
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! (Galatians 2:21)
Is my spirituality judged by what I eat or drink or whether I keep the Sabbath day ?
Do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink , or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day . These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. (Colossians 2:1617)
What does the Bible say about trying to please people and not being able to say no ?
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people , I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)
Is Saturday a day that is more sacred than another day ?
One person considers one day more sacred than another ; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. (Romans 14:5)
Why should sin no longer be my master ?
Sin shall no longer be your master , because you are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)
After the passing of the Old Testament Law, is there no covenant to live by? Are there no laws ?
This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds. (Hebrews 10:16)
