It is amazing to see how with Gods power you can overcome trials that seem impossible. After closely witnessing your life, I am convinced that anyone can strive and overcome any difficulty. A virtue I see in you is faith. You believe that God takes care of you, even though there might not be a human solution. When I heard the terrible news about my little sister my life changed. Things that normally made me happy would no longer have the same effect on me because I felt it was unfair for me to be happy since my sister was suffering from such unfortunate circumstances. As time has passed, and by seeing everything that God has done through her life, she has not only made everyone in our family have a better perspective on life, but has made me feel even happier about everything that God has done for us. In an instant, Perlas life went from perfect to pitiful. Lying in bed she could not speak, move, or even swallow. Foreword

During our time on earth, we encounter many types of individuals. Some are born-adventurers, ready to tackle lifes mountains and oceans. Others are persistent achievers, who refuse to let obstacles keep them from their goals. Perla is both.

I have known Perla for many years, and I have been blessed by her joyful attitude, her perseverance and her humor. It would be easy for Perla to give up on living out her dreams, but she refuses to let her life be dictated by limitations. Her example is a source of courage and hope for many, including myself.

It would be simple for us, the readers of Perlas story, to frame her in terms of the tried-and-true inspirational story, and to minimize the daily difficulties she faces. Her story is important because she must choose every day to live out the principles of this bookrest in Gods control, use prayer as a vital resource, and follow the master plan.

God has used Perla to inspire many already. My faith and trust in God have been deepened by watching Him demonstrate His glory through her. May all our lives have such impact.
