As You Wish is not only Mercys story of surrender and dying to herself but also a call for every Christ follower to experience what Jesus said in Matthew 16:25: If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it (NLT). Through personal stories and life experiences she shares how she came to the defining moment when she chose to say, As You wish, and discovered her greatest fulfillment. Mercys passion for Christ and seeing others experience the as You wish life are woven into each page. Her story will challenge and empower many to let go and experience freedom through surrender.

F IRST AND FOREMOST I want to thank my family for tirelessly working with me on this book. To my beloved husband, Bosulu, who shows me love that knows no bounds, thank you for believing in me even when I didnt believe in myself. To Isaiah and Ava-Pauline, you are my greatest inspiration and give me hope for the future. God blessed me extravagantly, as life with you is beyond my wildest dreams! I am deeply grateful to my father, Fidelis Makka, and my sisters Blessing, Serah, and Faith, who are as much a part of this journey as I am. Thank you all for your incessant encouragement and belief that with God all things are possible. I could not have done this without you.
Part of the beauty of birthing a dream is that God brings midwives and co-laborers to share the pain and magnify the joy of seeing new life emerge. Much appreciation goes to my incredible church family at Celebration in Jacksonville, Florida. This book is as much a part of you as it is of me. Thank you for always believing in me. Despite distance or geography, we will always grow together because we share the same roots. I know the best is yet to come! To my church family at DC Metro Church in Alexandria, Virginia, thank you for embracing me with open arms. Its an honor to serve in Gods house and build alongside all of you. To all who gave me advice, lent a listening ear, and offered generosity of heart, you have helped this dream become a reality, and your reward is in heaven!
To the dream team at Charisma House who provided invaluable assistance in editing and revising and then doing it all over again, I thank you for your wisdom and partnership.
A special tribute goes to Pastors Stovall and Kerri Weems. Words dont suffice to express my thanks, so the best gratitude I can offer is to courageously walk out my God-given destiny just as youve taught me. You will always be a part of my spiritual life in the most special way as my spiritual father and mother. Your willingness to pay the price of surrender inspires me.
Also, to all the great men and women of God who have been mentors for me and invested in my life, you are my heroes and heroines, and yours are the shoulders on which I humbly stand. Thank you for being trailblazers, for boldly paving the way, imparting vision, and challenging me to be all God created me to be. I pray I am able to do the same for those coming after me.
L ET ME START by admitting that I am more than just a little bit biased about Mercy Lokulutu. We are not merely professional acquaintances; we are up-close, personal friends. I love her strength, her humor, and her contagious passion for the things of God. But the thing I love the most about her is her deep commitment to the message of this book. Mercy lived the words as You wish, long before they ever found their way onto the pages of this book. But you will see for yourself that as You wish was not always her first response to the call and will of God.
From the time I first met Mercy, I could sense a special
