Chapter 1

The battle of Armageddon

T his book is the third in the series on, The end of the Ages. In this book, I refer to a number of events that are explained in a lot more detail in the first two books. And so, in order to get a clearer picture as to how those events fit into Gods calendar, I would encourage you to read the first two books in this series.

The marriage of the Lamb

Revelation 19:5-9 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" (6) And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! (7) Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." (8) And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. (9) Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God.

W hen Jesus Christ returns to the earth, He will not come directly to the earth. He will descend from heaven, to a realm that scripture calls, the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). It is from this realm, that Satan currently rules the earth, for the scripture refers to him as the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2). It is also from this realm, that Satan and his angels will be expelled by Michael and his angels, when war breaks out in heaven at the end of the age (Revelation 12:7-8). And so, when our Lord Jesus returns to the earth, He will descend to that realm, which is where the church will be caught up to meet Him. When the church is removed from the earth for the three years in which Gods wrath is poured out on the earth, there are two major events that the church will encounter. The first event is she will be judged by the Lord Jesus for the works which the saints have done, while they were alive on the earth. It is at that time, that the Lord Jesus will give us our eternal rewards. After the saints have been judged, the church will then encounter her second major event, i.e. she will ascend into heaven to the throne of God, there to be married to her Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ. The above passage of scripture refers to this event.

Psalms 45:9-15 Kings' daughters are among Your honorable women; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir. (10) Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear; Forget your own people also, and your father's house; (11) So the King will greatly desire your beauty; Because He is your Lord, worship Him. (12) And the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor. (13) The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace; Her clothing is woven with gold. (14) She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors; The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to You. (15) With gladness and rejoicing they shall be brought; They shall enter the King's palace.

Once the marriage of the Lamb has taken place, the church will no longer be one who is betrothed to the Lord, for she will then become the queen of heaven. The above passage of scripture describes the bride of Christ, after she has been joined to the Lord in eternal marriage. And so, we see that when our Lord Jesus finally returns to the earth to reign for one thousand years, that He will return with His bride, the church.

The army of the anti-Christ

Revelation 16:12-16 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. (13) And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. (14) For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (15) "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame." (16) And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
