As one who has embraced the call to intercession for many years, James Goll combines his personal journey with examples from Scripture and Church history. James sets forth practical ways to sustain a real prayer life. Having known James for over forty years, I am delighted to commend to you The Lifestyle of a Watchman .
Mike Bickle, International House of Prayer, Kansas City
James Goll lives what he writes in the pages of this book. This is a life-changing book because of that fact. For anyone who is just beginning to learn to pray, it is a training manual. For others, it will satisfy that deep place in your heart that longs for a deeper relationship with God in prayer.
Cindy Jacobs, co-founder, Generals International
Many have written concerning the importance of prayer and intercession, but few have ever addressed the character needed to maintain the lifestyle of a watchman. Across the globe, there are signs of revival. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the L ORD will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19 NKJV ). The flood of God is rising. In its rising is restoration of the ancient DNA of Pentecost: watching in prayer. We give thanks to our dear friend James for adding these vital insights to strengthen the global prayer community. We have known James for more than 35 years and can testify that he lives what he teaches and always focuses on the Source of life itselfthe Captain of Armies, the Lord, Jesus Christ.

James Goll has been a friend and prophet to me for years. He has been a major voice in the divine moments of my personal transitions, thrusting me into new spheres of faith and breakthrough. James Goll has been that kind of man for the whole Body of Christ for years. I believe his prophetic words and prolific teaching on prayer go down in heaven as one of the great gifts ever given to the Body of Christ. May God use this book to raise up thousands of intercessors who will frame the future of the earth. Throw yourself into this book and let the Lord light your soul on fire as you read.
Lou Engle, co-founder, TheCall
Dr. James Goll is a watchman, a prophet, a teacher, a father... and more. He has throughly studied the mandate, activities and ministry of the watchman throughout the Scriptures and Church history, and as a result, his book The Lifestyle of a Watchman is filled with treasures and insights regarding this often-ignored subject. It is truly a book to acquire for your personal library, but be sure to get others to give away. Lets spread the fire!
Patricia King, founder and CEO, Patricia King Ministries, www.patriciaking.com
A timely book, by one of the most important voices in the Church today. James Goll has modeled this lifestyle for decades. Only in eternity will any of us realize the full advantage we have in life because of those who paid such a price to appear before the Lord on our behalf. The Lifestyle of a Watchman will provide the reader with insight, inspiration and a challenge. In the wisdom forged only in trial, James takes on the monumental task of equipping us for this challenge, but he does so in doable bite-sized pieces. Brilliant!
Bill Johnson, senior leader, Bethel Church, Redding, California; author, Face to Face with God and The Essential Guide to Healing (with Randy Clark)
The Lifestyle of a Watchman is a practical, biblical and insightful book on a lifestyle of prayer. James Goll has given the Church a gift in this book. It will help you become more acquainted with the life of prayer and the basis for greater faith in the prayers we pray.

Dedication
With honor and gratitude in my heart, I dedicate this book to two people who are well known before the throne of God. They are both living legends of the message that history belongs to the intercessors. I would not be in the place of stature I am today without the shadows of these two diverse giants of the secret place touching my life: first, Dick Simmons of Men for Nations, based in Washington, D.C.; and second, Elizabeth (Beth) Alves of Increase International in Bulverde, Texas. Thank you for inspiring my life.

Foreword
Many years ago I had a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit. From that encounter, a deep hunger was birthed, and I fell in love with the Holy Spirit. I felt I could not get enough of Him. When my family left in the mornings, I turned on a worship CD and spent hours in His presence. I had been overtaken with the love of heaven.
In those times of worship, I began to experience prayer as I had never experienced it before. It took place in a deep place in my heart, and it felt as if my prayers were coming right from heaven, and all I did was agree with what heaven wanted to do.
