As a side note: I believe that our body, mind, and spirit are deeply connected and intertwined. So, in creating this book I found some difficulty developing separate sections. But, when in a hurry, these categories help you the reader move through this book with more ease.

Before we get started, I want to impart some reminders. The most fantastic of beauty products wont help you look beautiful if you continue to feed your body unhealthy food choices. We have all heard about the concerns of pesticides, hormones, GMO, fast food, and unwanted chemicals in our food. As we work on removing toxins from our life and creating beauty, its important to make healthy food choices. Your goal should be to eat real food: vegetables, fruit, nuts, and ancient grains. These are all foods that feed your body. As you shop for these healthier options, its also important to keep in mind the dirty dozen. Many of the powerhouse fruits and vegetables that you want in your diet have been shown to maintain high levels of pesticides and should always be eaten organic. The fruits and vegetables listed below have been found to have higher rates of pesticides present and have been labeled the dirty dozen.

Now lets look at the products we place on our body. Because the things we place on our bodies get absorbed directly into our skin and do not have the benefit of being broken down by our saliva and our stomach acid, many can be even more harmful to our systems than the pesticide-laden foods listed prior. Often our bodies dont know what to do with these harmful toxins, so it stuffs them in places they dont belong, like our lymph nodes, our fat, or our breast milk, they get stuck in our organs, and if pregnant pass to our baby. Many of these caustic ingredients accumulate silently in our bodies over years, disrupting our hormones, and we dont even know they exist until concerns arise. Yuck! I dont think we want this.
