Gods still small voice
There is great joy in doing something on the spur of the moment. When you do this, you find true freedom of the Spirit. You will find a new joy and freedom, which I long for all My children to have.
Life is so simple. Keep it so. Let nothing weigh you down or depress you. All is very well. Live fully in the now.
Take no thought for the morrow. Enjoy to the full what is happening now. Keep your consciousness raised, your mind stayed on Me. See My perfection working in you and through you, all your needs have been met, for all I have is yours.
Let the words and the thoughts you have heard so many times become a part of your whole being, so that they are vibrating words which manifest in form and become reality.
The messages in this book ask us to have total faith in the process of living to trust God, the universe, spirit, love, or whatever we choose to call the divine source. They affirm that there is an inherent wisdom and intelligence in everything, which can be contacted by turning within. Each one of us can do this and find Gods still small voice for ourselves.
Eileen Caddy (1917-2006) is known worldwide as one of the three founders of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. The books that have flowed from her inspiration have drawn multitudes to the Findhorn community. In her own person, Eileen Caddy, divinely ordinary as she described herself, has pushed the limits of the ordinary persons experience to the very borders of the kingdom of God.

We would like to make it clear that the Findhorn Community referred to in this book is not the local Scottish village of Findhorn but the community that has grown up around the Findhorn Foundation.

Foreword to the Third Edition

God Spoke to Me was Eileen Caddys first book, originally published under her spiritual name, Elixir, and contains some of the earliest guidance she received from her inner voice after she, her husband Peter, their three sons and a friend, Dorothy Maclean, came to live on a caravan site on the edge of the northern Scottish village of Findhorn in 1962. During the following years, others joined them in what rapidly became recognised as a spiritually pioneering way of life. Now, at the beginning of the 1990s, the Findhorn Foundation and its associated community comprises some several hundred people and a variety of lifestyles and businesses, and is a focus of attraction for several thousand visitors each year from around the world.

It has to be remembered, though, that when Eileen received most of the guidance contained in this book, the small group based at Findhorn had no idea of what lay ahead, neither in terms of the extent of development of their community and the influence it was to have on so many peoples lives, nor in that the concept of a new age would come to be so widespread.

As interest in the budding community and in the guidance Eileen was receiving increased during the 1960s, members of the group began to duplicate the messages by means of a hand-operated roneo machine and sent them out each month in instalments to the growing number of people from around the world who requested them. Later, when it was suggested that these short pieces, already known by the name God Spoke to Me, should be made into a book, Eileen was at first reluctant. She felt that the material was too personal. However, when she meditated on the question, into her mind came the phrase Feed My lambsin contrast to the biblical Feed My sheepand she realised that these short and simple pieces of guidance which went straight to the point could be of great help to many seekers. As a result, the personal aspects of the messages were edited out and God Spoke to Me appeared in book form in 1971.

Eileens life over the past thirty years or so has been a process of coming to realise that God is the divine essence within each person. Her guidance has stated this fact over and over again, but it has taken some years for Eileen to accept it as a reality. In the beginning her inner voice addressed her as My child and spoke to her as does a loving father. Over the years, as this relationship changed, her voice began to call her My beloved. Now she feels she can truly say that there is no separation between herself and the God within and that this is so for everyone. In the words of one of the pieces of guidance from God Spoke to Me:

My beloved child, every soul eventually has to reach a point along this spiritual path where it can see itself as perfecteven as I AM perfectand is willing to accept the wonder of this truth. When you belittle your true Self, you are belittling Me, for I AM within you, I AM you, that real you.

The messages in this book are about learning to trust totally the process of living, to trust God, the universe, the divine source or whatever you prefer to call it. They affirm that life contains an inherent wisdom and intelligence, present in everything, including ourselves, and that it can be contacted by turning within.

There is also advice about moving into the new age, which should be regarded not so much as a period of time as a new kind of consciousness. It is a process of connecting with the divine, seeing with new eyes, recognising God within everything. It is also about creating something new by means of vision, bringing into form from within that which is for the highest good of all.

Although ileens voice relates to her in these early messages like a father who knows what is best for his child, there is throughout an emphasis on the free will and choice of the individual. This isnt a God of fire and brimstone issuing orders from on high, but an all-seeing source of compassion and love whose only wish is for all beings to realise their highest potential.

Foreword to the 1971 Edition

It was in 1969 that a copy of God Spoke to Me, Part 1 first fell into my hands. At the time I had just umdergone a seemingly calamitous sequence of events which, im a matter of weeks, had stripped me of my job, my flat, all of my personal belongings and savings, and my sense of purpose. Yet, throughout all this, I sensed the hand off God at work, leading me into something far better and more meaningful than I had known before. The friend who handed me the little booklet said, Perhaps this is what youre looking for, and something told me that this was so. I opened the booklet at random, and my eyes fell upon the following words:

Accept this day as a special day, a day of rebirth. This is My gift to you. You are being reborn in Spirit and in truth. This is the biggest turning point in your lifefrom this day on, all is new.

I want you to become aware of this and accept it as a fact now. You are to witness tremendous changes in your life and living. They may be gradual, but they will gather in momentum, and nothing will stop these changes, this transformation, from taking place. You will grow in stature; the old will pass away and all will be made new.

You are now moving into the most glorious epoch of your life, for you now know the truth. You know that I AM life, that I AM love, that I AM your consciousness and that I AM within you.

This is something no one can take from you, that nothing can change. This is reality. This is something which you have been seeking and now have found. It is the greatest treasure, the greatest truth, for it brings you to that conscious-oneness with Me. Then you know that all I AM is thine and all I have is thine, and you are Mine.

Let these truths become a part of you; absorb them as you breathe. They are the breath of life.

I knew that what I had read was true. The words may have come to me from without, but something deep within me resonated to them in retognition and acceptance. The following day I left for the Findhorn Community, and have been here ever since. That day was undoubtedly the biggest turning point in my life. Tremendous changes have taken place since then and all has indeed been made new. No longer need I seek without for the voice of God, for the Findhorn Community has taught me to find that voice within.
