It's hard to have faith. Life is filled withproblems and we can't always see the reason for them, much less thesolution. But the solution has been there all along. The Bibletells us to pray constantly, and give our concerns to God. Not onlywill He listen, He truly cares! God's love is so deep and socomplete that our human minds cannot comprehend it. Imagine thelove that a human father has for his human child. Then multiply ittimes infinity.

Many people pray and expect a miracle. Otherspray as a last resort with no real hope at all. It's as if they geton their knees because they've tried everything else. Ultimately,God decides how to answer each prayer. Sometimes it is with a"yes", sometimes it is with a "no", and sometimes it's with a "notright now." Other times the answer comes in a manner that we havenot even imagined.

The key is faith. Not temporary or cautiouslyoptimistic faith, but real absolute unshakable faith. This singleword is mentioned over and over again in the Bible. Praying withoutfaith is like trying to run a car engine without gasoline. It justdoesn't work.

The goal of this book is simple: to show theimportance of faith. I've listed below many of the instances wherefaith is mentioned in the New Testament. As you read through theverses, open your heart and pray for understanding.

"Jesus turned, and seeing her He said, Takeheart, daughter; your faith has made you well. And instantly thewoman was made well." Matthew 9:22

"Then He touched their eyes, saying,According to your faith be it done to you. Matthew 9:29

"And He did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief." Matthew 13:58

"He said to them, Because of your littlefaith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain ofmustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here tothere, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.Matthew 17:20

"And Jesus answered them, Have faith in God.Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be taken upand thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, butbelieves that what he says will come to pass, it will be done forhim. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe thatyou have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:22-24

"And the Lord said, If you had faith like agrain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Beuprooted and planted in the sea, and it would obey you." Luke17:6

"And He said to the woman, Your faith hassaved you; go in peace. Luke 7:50

"And His nameby faith in His namehas madethis man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that isthrough Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presenceof you all." Acts 3:16

"To open their eyes, so that they may turnfrom darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, thatthey may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those whoare sanctified by faith in Me." Acts 26:18

"Through whom we have received grace andapostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake ofHis name among all the nations," Romans 1:5

"The righteousness of God through faith inJesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: forall have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and arejustified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is inChrist Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood,to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins.It was to show His righteousness at the present time, so that Hemight be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."Romans 3:22-26

"But that Israel who pursued a law that wouldlead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. Why?Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based onworks. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, as it iswritten, Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and arock of offense; and whoever believes in Him will not be put toshame. Romans 9:31-33

"But the righteousness based on faith says,Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven? (thatis, to bring Christ down) or Who will descend into the abyss?(that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say?The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is,the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess withyour mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that Godraised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart onebelieves and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and issaved." Romans 10:6-10

"So faith comes from hearing, and hearingthrough the word of Christ." Romans 10:17

"That is true. They were broken off becauseof their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do notbecome proud, but fear." Romans 11:20

"That your faith might not rest in the wisdomof men but in the power of God." 1 Corinthians 2:5

"Not that we lord it over your faith, but wework with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith." 2Corinthians 1:24

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2Corinthians 5:7

"Yet we know that a person is not justifiedby works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we alsohave believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith inChrist and not by works of the law, because by works of the law noone will be justified." Galatians 2:16

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is nolonger I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I nowlive in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved meand gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20

"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you?It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed ascrucified. Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit byworks of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish?Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by theflesh? Did you suffer so many things in vainif indeed it was invain? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miraclesamong you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith"Galatians 3:1-5

"For through the Spirit, by faith, weourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness." Galatians5:5

"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision noruncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working throughlove." Galatians 5:6

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness," Galatians5:22

"For by grace you have been saved throughfaith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not aresult of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"So that Christ may dwell in your heartsthrough faiththat you, being rooted and grounded in love,"Ephesians 3:17

"In all circumstances take up the shield offaith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of theevil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of theSpirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in theSpirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alertwith all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,"Ephesians 6:16-18
