Guide
O n Sunday night, March 18, 1990, in Boston, Massachusetts, two security guards faithfully stood at their posts keeping an uneventful watch over the famed Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Inside the building, a lifetime collection of masterpieces was carefully housed and protected. But all of that was about to change.
At 1:20 a.m. there was an unexpected knock on the museums side door. Security guard Richard Rick Abath answered the door to discover two Boston police officers standing there. The officers explained that they were there to investigate a noise complaint. Without hesitation, Abath dutifully buzzed the officers in, whereupon they announced to the two security guards, Gentlemen, this is a robbery.
Within eleven minutes, Abath and his coworker found themselves handcuffed, blindfolded, and locked away in the museums basement.
Now with free rein in the building, the two armed robbers proceeded to snatch paintings, breaking their protective glass cases and cutting them out of the frames. In eighty-one minutes, the duo had rounded up an assortment of artwork, including Rembrandts The Storm on the Sea of Galilee, A Lady and Gentleman in Black, and Self-Portrait. Also taken were Johannes Vermeers The Concert, sketches by Edgar Degas, and a famous work by douard Manet.
The next morning, the two museum guards were discovered still bound in the basement, and the damage assessment began.
During the ensuing investigation, it was determined that the thieves almost certainly had no real expertise in art, as some of the museums most priceless items were left untouched. Even so, after all was said and done, the two robbers managed to steal half a billion dollars worth of the worlds finest paintings and drawings. It is a story worthy of a true crime mystery novel or a Hollywood movie. Sadly, the stolen artwork has never been found, despite a $10 million reward for information leading to its safe recovery.
To date, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist remains the largest such crime in world history, a brazen theft that still has investigators and law enforcement across the globe scratching their heads.
SOMEONES AT THE DOOR
In 2020, while America, along with the rest of the world, was distracted with riots, pandemics, and lockdowns, a meeting was held in the relatively obscure town of Davos, Switzerland. There, world leaders from ninety-one countries, including fifty-three heads of state, along with some of the worlds most influential bankers and financiers, convened for a pivotal summit. These are considered to be the global elites, a veritable whos who of internationally known, powerful, geopolitical celebrities. But this was not the first such assembly. For forty-eight previous years, the same organization had been sponsoring this event.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) was founded in 1971 by Klaus Schwab, a German engineer and economist and a former professor of business policy at the University of Geneva. The organizations stated mission is to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. Like the aforementioned impostor policemen, their intentions are anything but honorable. Instead, they are standing at the door, armed with a clear and radical vision for Earth and its inhabitants.
Among the attendees at the 2020 summit were Prince Charles of Wales; Ursula von der Leyen (president of the European Commission); Christine Lagarde (president, European Central Bank); Seth F. Berkley (CEO of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations); His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (the archbishop of ConstantinopleNew Rome); and, of course, Klaus Schwab (the founder of the nefarious organization). Also tagging along as a featured speaker was Earths favorite teenage wannabe climate expert, Greta Thunberg. President Joe Biden of the United States was the keynote speaker at this conference in 2016, having also attended nine previous years.
But what were they doing there?
The Davos 2020 agenda was themed Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World, with a focus on renewing the concept of stakeholder capitalism to overcome income inequality, societal division and the climate crisis.
However, the January 2020 agenda turned out to be merely the warm-up act for what was to come. In June of that same year, Schwab released a book titled COVID-19: The Great Reset. In it he outlines a proposed plan for leveraging the COVID-19 crisis as a way to address everything from climate change to world economics, human equality, and, of course, pandemics. According to Schwab, the pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world.
