A n unwritten rule in Alcoholics Anonymous and other *A groups is completing 90 meetings in 90 days. This workbook is designed to help complete that task. However, it is not meant as a one and half hour meeting.
It is meant as a tool to keep you on track throughout your day having a beginning, a middle, and an end on a daily basis. It begins in prayer and ends in prayer. It is designed as something to keep you focused on a source that will give you an endless supply of power and victory over those nagging and annoying cravings. Lets face it Recovery is work and unless your focused on doing the work its difficult to succeed. Yes, there are some who experience immediate victory over their addictions, or unwanted behaviours. But for most us, Recovery is a slow and sometimes painful process.
This workbook is designed to give you the inspiration each day over a period of 90 days to remain committed to your sobriety no matter the issue you are struggling with. This workbook does not focus on one specific area of addiction, or behavioural problem. It is universal. How to use this workbookThe Beginning: Step 1: Each day begins with prayer, taking a few minutes before God to ask for His guidance and direction. To begin your day and continued recovery focused on your truest source of power. Step 2: Reading and spending some quality time meditating on the scripture provided.
Allowing the Holy Spirit to minister to you in those meditative moments. Step 3: Journaling the thoughts and feelings that are being inspired through the scripture. What is the personal message you are receiving? The Middle: Step 4: Throughout the day take several moments and continue to reflect on the days scripture keeping in mind any new revelation you receive. The End: Step 5: At the end of your day work through the daily inventory section being mindful of the pitfalls that can be a catalyst to relapse. (take your time, remember this is a journey and one that needs to be worked thoroughly and honestly) Step 6: Journal any important happenings for the day, write one thing you are grateful for that day and make notes of any things that you would like to accomplish the next day. Step 7: End your day in prayer.
Spend a few moments thanking God for the day and whatever else that may be on your mind. There are no specific words you must speak or rituals you must follow just have a conversation with Him as you would a friend. C ONTENTS Prayer Heavenly Father as I begin this journey of recovery I pray that you help me to receive my new life in Christ, confidently knowing that at each step you are truly with me, no longer identifying with who I was, but instead who I am, a new creation, with a new beginning, a new opportunity to live life in your abundance. Pray - Ask God to provide guidance as you step into the day. Read/ Meditate on the following Scripture - Listen to the Holy Spirit minister Gods Word to you. What is the one word or phrase that especially touches your heart? 2 Corinthians 5:17 (MSG) 17 Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new.
The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! Journal - What emotions, personal struggle, or longing in your life is stirred by the Scripture? What do you need to share with God in prayer? (Be specific.) What personal invitation does Christ have for you to receive and rest in? What does God seem to be saying to you from the Bible passage?
