Dear Self, You are enough. You have always been enough. You will always be enough. Im so proud of you. Always. I hope you know that. Im proud of the courage and the tenacity you possess, along with all of your amazing accomplishments. Im so immensely proud of all the love youve shared with others but most importantly with yourself. I love you. Flaws and imperfections included. Im sorry it took me so long to learn how to fathom and praise all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will be.

Dear Self
Dear Self
Silla Berg Austin Macauley Publishers 2020-12-10 Reminder: You are alive today. And that will always be enough. Reminder: Think of your worth. Now multiply it with ten. Reminder: Trust the first feeling about anything and anyone. Reminder: Nothing is going to change unless you do the work thats necessary.

The work no one else can do. You have to clear up the soil, take out everything thats rotten so you can plant new seeds. And then, you have to water yourself.
Reminder: The universe will always match the amount of effort you put in. Reminder: Love as much as you possibly can.
Dear whoever is still reading this,
Thank you for picking this book up again whenever you put it down, for reading every word, for committing to every letter, for allowing me to bleed on the page.

I hope it didnt spill too much. It still means everything. I hope this time weve spent together has somehow helped you. It even might have helped you recognise the wounds that youve been ignoring for too long. The ones you thought were healed, the ones planted deep inside your subconscious, the place where no one has access to but yourself, barely. The place where you most likely never thought of looking for the origin of the blood spilling on your insides.

I was terrified to take a look, to see all of the conditions and old beliefs I had about myself and others, but it was the place I needed to explore the most because of the power it held over me. Maybe, just maybe, it is also the place you need to visit in order to start healing for real, instead of always looking for the easiest or quickest fix. There isnt, and never will be, any easy or quick way to be a human being. To be alive and all that comes with it. The biggest thing I learned that even though I was writing to myself, I could have substituted Self with any relationship I had. It really hit home the importance of my relationship with myself.

How every other relationship I have will always be a reflection of it. How it will always determine the qualities of all the other relationships that will follow. Out of all the things I wish I had learned sooner, it is exactly that. The fact that I always create and attract my reality and the people who enter it. Im always the one who decides what Im worth and what I deserve. No matter how hard society tries to convince me and you otherwise.

All of its lies are sweet but I promise the truth, your truth, will sedate your hunger like sweetness cannot. We seem to love to compact multiple things into only just one. Just like how we ask ourselves and each other: What one advice would you give to your younger self? Or, What is the one thing that leads to true happiness? But I think its never been just one thing. Its always been a collection of this and that, a collection we have to gather or create or mould ourselves so it fits us. Because what works for me is never guaranteed to work for you and vice versa. Thats why we need to keep digging, to find what works in each moment.

Because were ever changing, ever expanding. But if I had to leave you with just that one thing, it would be this: be more abundant with your time, use it. All of it. Especially the time you give to yourself. Allow yourself to have the time you need. For whatever you need it for.

Use it to create memories with the people you love instead of collecting things you dont need. The memories will sustain you longer than the materials will last. I promise. You are a living and breathing thing, allow yourself to be. Make time for yourself, give yourself time to be flawed and then the time you need to grow. Keeping in mind your time will come to an end eventually.

Keep that in mind when you prioritise. Only spend your time on yourself and the things and people who feed your soul. Make the time for the things you said you would do. Create the time to talk less and do more. And whenever you can, fill your time with more love.

She grew up in Vestmannaeyjar, a small island off the south coast of Iceland, which taught her to love and respect nature in all its forms. The people who have affected, influenced or changed my life to some or to a great extent. This book is the sum of all their stories interwoven into mine. I cant name all the names but here are the ones I can: To my family Mom, thank you for bringing me into this world and teaching me that I have always been worthy of my dreams. My stepdad, Ragnar, thank you for coming into our lives and enriching our family. My brother, rni and sister-in-law, Gulla, thank you for being my support system when I needed you the most. I couldnt have done it without you.

My dad and my brothers, thank you for showing me and helping me nurture all of my roots. You helped me grow. My cousin Lind and her boys, thank you for always holding out a helping hand. Thank you for making this world a little brighter every single day. To my nephew Hlynur, my angel, thank you for teaching me all of the things no one else could, especially when it comes to love. My heart is yours.

Forever and always. To my friends Laura, thank you for being my girl and for seeing this world with me. Its been my honour to grow into the woman I am today, with you by my side. Elisa, thank you for supporting me through all of it. My soul will forever be grateful it found yours. Sunn, thank you for all of the phone calls, travels and read-throughs of my words.

I hope our dreams continue to take us to all the places we have wished for and so much more. Arnds, thank you for being the soul sister I never knew I needed. Heres to many more years evolving together. Liam, thank you for teaching me how happiness will always be reality over expectations. Heres to making reality better than the expectations. I think we tend to leave ourselves out of the acknowledgements and the thank-you lists even though were the ones who are there from start to finish, mixing together all of the work and effort to create pure magic.

Therefore, last but certainly not least: Dear Self, thank you for enduring what needed to be endured, in order for you to live what needed to be lived. It was all worth it.
